www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/report-yankees-uninterested-in-dealing-clint-frazier-for-rental/ar-AADdOz6
While the Yankees are willing to discuss young outfielder Clint Frazier in trade talks, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports that they have no interest in sending him out for a rental player. At least, that’s the word the team is putting out to other organizations at the moment.
Frazier has become a popular topic of discussion in New York since his recent demotion to make way for just-acquired slugger Edwin Encarnacion. Despite slashing a healthy .283/.330/.513 with 11 home runs in 209 plate appearances, Frazier was again dropped back to Triple-A.
It’s not clear that the talented 24-year-old has a path back to a significant role with the Yankees in the near term. With Aaron Judge set to return and Giancarlo Stanton already back in action, the roster is brimming with righty sluggers.
That’s not to say that the Yanks won’t value Frazier. Owner Hal Steinbrenner has spoken highly of the young slugger, though that’s hardly an assurance that Frazier is off limits. The organization is obviously aware of the value of maintaining depth, even if it seems like a bit of a luxury, and Frazier is optionable this season and next. READ MORE...

A word of warning from the great Kenny Rogers; Don’t fall in love With Clint Frazier Cause he’ll Leave you every time Just when you think He’s in the line up He’s injured again Don’t fall in love With Clint Frazier Cause he’ll soon Be in a trade Just when you think He’s in the line up He’s leaving For good Just when you think He’s what you wanted He drops The ball...

I’m Jonesing for Robby Ray again. He’s healthy, 5-5; 3.90 for a .500 team in Arizona that’s 14 games out. He’s fanned 124 in 94.2 innings. Ready to come into his prime. I would think Arizona has a mind set that they don’t need a total rebuild. Frazier is MLB ready quality and if you add a prospect that’s close (Maybe Thairo) I think you’re getting close...Might also need to put a MiLB pitcher of respectable quality on the table...

Barring injuries I don't think Frazier will be with the Yankees. Judge, Stanton, and Hicks will be here a long time and the Yankees have plenty of DH's.

Given that Stanton will miss at least a month, given his track record this year it is uncertain if he will play much even then, I think it will be interesting who plays for him. They may wait for Maybin or they could recall Frazier.

www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41069883-4Spent the afternoon down at the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate, and while down here, caught up with outfielder Clint Frazier. He tells ESPN he and Brian Cashman had a phone conversation in recent days. "That was the best conversation I could have had ... I wanted to just hear it from him: what do I need to do to make it back on that team? Light a fire under me." Frazier said Cashman "was honest with me. I walked away from that conversation feeling really good about my present situation and my future situation." He remains optimistic that his future is in pinstripes, and not as a trade chip entering the upcoming deadline. Cashman's advice was, of course, for Frazier to focus on honing his defense. Also asked him to not neglect his offense, given the 4-for-17 start Frazier had after being optioned down June 17. Frazier has ended up getting hits in 12 of his past 16 games in Scranton. In terms of reporting to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at the end of his 72-hour report period last month, Clint Frazier said: "I'm not the first guy to take 72 hours, I'm not going to be the last guy to take 72 hours." Said he also took that long to come back during a return to Triple-A last year, and lamented the fact this particular time his later report caused such controversy. "I took it because one, I have two animals and a full apartment. I needed a day, and then one day turned into I'm going to take another day. And then it was like: ‘I'm not in my best frame of mind right now.' I was mad, I was upset, I was bitter. It was one of those things where I needed to be able to come down here and be ready to work. I would have shown up Day 1 and probably would have been a nuisance to be around. I would have upset. I (was) still mourning my demotion ... I needed to take 72 hours. I wasn't trying to send a message. I wasn't trying to send a message to Brian Cashman — one of the most powerful men in baseball. He holds the cards. He's been good to me." Finally, Clint Frazier is proud of the strides he feels he's made defensively working with RailRiders assistant Julio Borbón. Frazier's still buzzing about diving full-stretch for a ball last weekend against Syracuse. It was his first diving catch since a dive last August exacerbated his concussion symptoms, effectively ending his 2018 season. With Borbón, Frazier's focus has been on standing up a little taller in his pre-pitch setup. It's to mimic his fairly upright batter's stance. He believes that has helped him maintain his eye level when he takes off for fly balls, helping him track them dramatically better. Previously, he'd crouch lower pre-pitch, and when he'd move immediately out of the crouch, that would cause his eyes to move, and he'd have more difficulty tracking balls hit at high velocities. "It's not the same guy out there (now)," Frazier said. "I want to practice it in New York, but I feel good. It hasn't been a waste of my time down here. It hasn't been a bad experience, one that I think can really help me help the Yankees when I get the chance."
