I used to do mlb.com Extra Innings but as I recall there was no control over which team's feed you got. Is that still the case, or am I "misremembering"? It was weird last year. For the first half or so of the season I almost never got the Yankees feed. The second half I always got the Yankees feed. I’m thinking it might have had to do with YES wanting paid to share it. There is “choice” option but there are times that you get what you get, that is true… I think that's why I switched to MLB.TV...one too many "Hawk" Harrelson "he gone"...

At least with my ROKU I get the mlb.com extra innings for whatever price they’ll charge this year ($149 last year) and it does include the Amazon games. If you want to ditch cable or Direct TV/DISH nonsense a Roku is a great option. But the best Roku you can find ($129?) and pay zero per month. Then pay for upgrades per channel package. We pay $5.23 per month for basic Roku and Discovery +. I buy the mlb.com extra innings and that’s it. I don’t miss all the movie channels. I only watch the movies that are free… I used to do mlb.com Extra Innings but as I recall there was no control over which team's feed you got. Is that still the case, or am I "misremembering"? I usually purchase mlb.com extra innings and there is a home/visitor choice for each game. I have Roku now so I will consider that service too this upcoming season. I also have amazon prime.

The wife handles the TV decisions...if not for her I'd be typing this on a typewriter and wondering why I wasn't able to post it.

That’s interesting because I am blocked from both feeds whenever the Yankees play either the Astros or the Rangers. This is both home and away, and I’m two and a half hours away from Houston!

Yeah...whenever I traveled to NY I was blocked from Yankee games on MLB.TV in Albany...4 hrs from NYC.

Do you have cable or Direct TV or Dish? The Cubs and White Sox games (both announcers) are always blacked out on my Extra Innings package and MLB TV but I get their games as part of my Direct TV local programming.

I cut the cord and ditched DirecTV after Sarah died. Just extra innings on mlb.com now.

I caught a game at the "old" one. My son, D-I-L and g-kids attended the last Astros-Rangers series there last season...very impressed.

Unfortunately, I have not made it to the new stadium, yet. Actually, I really liked the "old" ballpark, but I guess with the summer heat, they were having trouble procuring free agents and were not maximizing their attendance....at least that was the explanation. Most of the time, these stadium builds are just boondoggles benefiting developers and their cronies. I'm going to try to get to a game or two next season, especially when the Yankees are in town.

D-Backs are already screaming they need a new stadium. Chase Field was built in '98...although the "retractable" roof has become a problem.

My old college roommate used to live and work in Katy, Texas (where many athletes make their home, including our own Andy Pettitte), where he assisted in development deals and enticing industries to leave California and relocate here. A few years ago, he was part of building a new football stadium for one of the Katy high schools...the cost was 72 million dollars! I asked him if he received any kickback. Nope, it was all above board. He didn't even get a complimentary Frito-Pie at home games! (In the south, Frito-Pies are a concession stand staple, in which a bag of Fritos is cut open lengthwise and chili and cheese are poured inside the bag and you eat it with a plastic spoon.)
