I signed onto this forum to read about things related to the Yankees, therefore I click on the "Yankees General Discussion" tab. Discussion threads like "Foodie Thread", "O/T The Music Thread", Misc. Bull$hit", "2023 Football (College & NFL)", "Our Heath & Condition", which are interesting so some people, have nothing to do with the Yankees.
Couldn't the forum administration create a new tab for these type of discussions? Just a thought.

I thought about it before but decided against it because I figured those threads would get much less traffic in a separate sub forum. They are in high prominence now because it’s the slow part of the offseason. When the season picks up those threads usually aren’t as active.

I love these off topic threads. Just discovered the foodie thread yesterday😄. Have you ever had a “favorite baseball movie” thread. Lots of good baseball movies.

Having previously participated in two now defunct Yankee message boards…MLB YMB and YES…it’s been my experience that general baseball threads often morph into something other than the original topic. Rather than have that happen, I think it’s a good thing to allow threads specifically for “other” topics that may not have anything to do with Yankee baseball.

Eight Men Out
Elmer, the Great (very funny).
It Happens Every Spring (also very funny).

The Lou Gehrig movie still chokes me up. I liked the one based on the Shaara book, can't recall the title but Costner plays an aging pitcher on the Tigers. I liked Eight Men Out, didn't care for The Natural or Field of Dreams.

There are some serious foodies in this group. For me, I’m more like a guy that might crumble up some potato chips on my peanut butter and jelly sandwich…

Some of my favs: Sandlot Field of Dreams 61 Eight Men Out Bad News Bears Remembering a cool moment when we decided to take our dearly departed mastiff, Brandy to a street festival in Salida, CO. We bought some street food and sat on a bench to eat outdoors while we people watched. I see a couple young boys with their father approaching us and the oldest boy says “Look, dad! It’s the dog from “Sandlot!” …🤓 That was a great, fun movie…

But Fever Pitch? Really? I haven't seen it so I can't really judge but a movie based on the Red Sox coming back from 0-3 to win their first championship since 1918?

Our game threads are also fair game to wander into O/T areas. It’s sort of like the YES announcers. If it’s a bad game, you want to talk about something else, and it’s a great spot to poke and jab each other in a friendly way…
