For us older Yankees fans, watching Judge has brought us back to the 50's and 60's and seeing Mantle. Players like this don't come around too often, but when they do, every AB is a must see. Reggie was that way, too. He wasn’t near as good, but he made himself into a show… No one ever talks about his play on defense. IIRC, his arm strength was adequate at best. Always thought it was strange that a left-hander was playing RF.

I don't think the Yankees have had a player this dynamic since Mantle, and only Ruth, Gehrig and DiMaggio before that. Judge is a genuine phenomenon and a unique historic talent.

Reggie was that way, too. He wasn’t near as good, but he made himself into a show… Part of that show was bad fielding and causing trouble in the clubhouse because of what he said about Munson. Reggie was a good fielder in his youth, but that went way downhill…

I'm not sure if it was discussed here or not, if it was I missed it. A couple days ago Judge's personal hitting coach was in the news. Apparently he tweeted somthing about the Yankees doing a really poor job of developing players. I didn't realize that Judge had a personal hitting coach and I wonder how common that is and if it creates any tension with the Yankee coaching staff.

I posted the reply Aaron Boone had to the tweet, something along the lines of "everyone has their own opinion", but it didn't get much traction on the board in terms of discussion. Its not a good look for the organization when the star has his own hitting coach. But whatever they're doing, its working for Judge!

Aaron Judge in his last 33 games: .421, 19hr, 43rbi, .541obp, 1.061slg, 1.602ops 162 game pace with those stats: 93hr, 211rbi
I think he'll do it!

Others should give it a try if it works for the best player in baseball. In fact If Im the Yankees I might consider hiring him just to keep him from other teams and players

I’m just going to assume that after that got out that Mr. Judge has asked the coach to keep his mouth shut…

And his hitting coach is absolutely correct.

And his hitting coach is absolutely correct. I believe the organization is going through some changes in philosophy, getting away a bit from the uppercutting, making not contact, etc..

Despite Aaron Judge’s early season record breaking pace for GIDP, he had now been passed by Manny Machado who has rapped into 17.
Judge and Luis Arraez both have hit into 14 as Judge has considerably slowed his pace.
Jose Trevino is tied for 14th place with 11 in far fewer games…

BTW: Machado leads all active players in GIDP for his career at 200…

That's an even higher rate than both Trevino and Judge.
