What does "maintenance" mean?

What does "maintenance" mean? I’m thinking he may need a protective device for a while. I snapped a ligament in a finger once. When they snap they’re sort of like a rubber band and the snapped strands ball up at the end that didn’t break off. I could see a bump on my finger where that debris gathered for over a year until it atrophied. Both ends were painful and raw and I would experience pain with overuse or if I bumped or jostled that finger, which was because both ends were frayed and bloody until they had time to heal (and atrophy). The doctor said that I had likely only actually snapped a small portion of the ligament tissue. Had I snapped the entirety, the finger would have no longer been able to bend. I have of course, no clue how much of the tissue Judge snapped, but I would assume the healing process to be similar. The only way I could imagine that maintenance will be needed for the remainder of his career would be if the entirety of that ligament tore and the toe has become immobile. That’s all know, a message of hope from my right ring finger to Aaron Judge’s toe…

I have a bump or curve “down there”. I think it’s Peyronie’s disease. As overuse hasn’t been an issue, that would explain the atrophy.

Seriously though, feel better.

I think he was joking. The perineum: The body’s demilitarized zone…

And people wondered why i said i would be thrilled if just played 120 games or more Playing Judge in center every day might be the dumbest Yankee move since Jeff Weaver. It is going to make for an unhappy Verdugo but I would platoon him and Grisham in center. Less running in RF and Judge will still need games at DH.

rodon finished 5th & 6th in the CY voting the 2 previous seasons. his line overall was 2.67 era, .998 whip and 12.2k/9. that's ace territory. wanna call him a #2. fine. they're not paying $162 mil to be a #3. folks need to forget about last season. have a feeling we'll see the pitcher we traded for. he was embarrassed and reported to camp in great shape. expect a return close to form. and yeah he has to stay healthy. but you can say that about every player. I think we can all agree that baseball has changed a great deal from the game we played and watched as kids. So when we throw around terms like Ace, #1 Starter, #2 Starter etc. they probably have different meanings or expectations associated with them for each poster and don't relate to what they were 10, 20 or 30 years ago. I now think of a #1 Starter as the guy who is first up in each teams rotation. There are 30 of them in MLB. If you want to be a good team, this pitcher should be pretty good. I looked at some stats today and was surprised by some: In 2023, only 29 qualified MLB starters had an ERA below 4.0. Only 41 had an ERA below 5.0. 5 SPs threw 200 innings or more, only 24 threw 180 innings or more. 1 Pitcher won 20 games, only 8 had 15 or more wins 37 Pitchers started 30 games of more. The days of 20 game winners, 200 IP, staffs with 3 or 4 really good starters are gone. It's really hard to find quality starters who are durable. We may have to change our perspective as to what is an Ace, a #1 are, and I'm not sure how to define a 4 or 5 outside of walking and breathing?

I hate the idea of Judge playing CF everyday. Platoon Verdugo and Grisham, with Verdugo getting the bulk of time. Utilize Grisham to spell Judge and Soto on days you have them DH.
