Rizzo gets a FB outside of middle, but foul tips it.
Curve low, fouled, 0-2
Cutter in the zone, up and in, hammered down firat into the corner. Tucker gets on it fast, but Rizzo sneaks into 2nd just ahead of his throw, leadoff double.
That was an 0-2 mistake pitch worthy of Schmidt by France.

Cutter hangs, but is above the zone, Verdugo chases and fouls it off.
Fools him with the curve dropping low away. Same pitch he got Soto with. K, 2 down.

Just make contact, sometimes you get lucky. Even more important in those old dead ball days with the tiny gloves and high error counts, but it still works today… |
