They've had some luck and help from the defense but they've been good too. Given the number of starters we are going to need a deep BP.

And here we go with Holmes....
The Yankees defense bailed him out again. Maybe the Yankees should give Ferguson and or Hamilton a chance to Close.
Holmes just saved 3 games in 3 tries against the HOU Astros, one of the best most disciplined offenses in the MLB, on the road in HOU to complete a 4 game sweep !!!!! And Yankee fans think we should give someone else a try because Holmes didnt make it easy!!!! Meanwhile the Yankees beat Hader, the highest paid and arguably best closer in baseball, on his home turf in front of his crazy fans!!!! Who was better Holmes or Bader??? I think we are forever spoiled by Mo!

The Dodgers have four key starting pitchers on the IL (not even counting Ohtani, who would make five) -- including Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin on the 60-day IL and Walker Buehler on the 15-day IL. That's an All Star staff out of action. But again typical for them, they just burn through pitchers.

I think we are forever spoiled by Mo! I'm not advocating we move on from Holmes at this point. I think good managers understand it's a long season and you don't remove a player from his role after a couple games. Boone seems to get that and I think Torre was really good at it. WTS, I also recognize that Holmes was pretty lucky in 2 of the 3 games. Particularly game 4 where he gave up 5 hard hit balls and got two outstanding defensive plays. He has good stuff but from time to time he struggles with location. If you were to replace him with someone who hasn't closed before it's not a sure thing they will be better, in fact good chance they are not as good. I do think he has the makeup you want in a closer, doesn't seem to get rattled. If he continues to struggle and it starts costing the Yankees games, I believe they will look for an upgrade but we are a long way from that and closers aren't easy to find. That's my 2 cents but in actuallity I think it's worth at least a plug nickel.

He definitely had a hand in peeling off with it… I thought the weasel was brave, turns out he was really yellow. Whatever help he had looks like they split the scene. Banana Lana fofana…

An axe murderer face is never a detriment when you go out to close a game… 🤓 🪓
