I like Holmes but don't love him as a shut down closer. What a series. Great way to start the season. Yeah, they need someone better. Not sure who though. |

gotta give the pen credit. they bent (particularly holmes) but didn't break. while loaisiga allowed an inherited runner to score, another 3 2/3 scoreless on the ledger.

Certainly not Holmes...lol SOTO!!!!!! 3rd Star: Berti for the RBI single and brilliant decision to stall the rally in the 9th. 2nd Star: Schmidt for his solid first five innings. 1st Star: Soto for overall hitting brilliance, especially making Torres' questionable go move on the 3-2 with the base open by slapping the game winning single to left. |

Burdi looked dominant in the eighth. Astros were not seeing the ball. I was kind of hoping Boone would stick with him in the ninth. |

Never like your OF leaving his feet unless he is going to get to it but it looks like it's part of Dugo's game. I love having a player with character and excitement.
Soto is the big name but I think Dugo will play a big role and be a fan favorite.

not exactly an offensive tour de force, but other than ocab, everyone in the lineup made some contribution. 4-0 to start especially against the astros (one of the toughest offenses in the game) at home is quite an accomplishment. on to arizona ...
