Throw over on Marte Cutter at 91 in the zone low and away, must look like a change to the D'backs hitters. Change way outside at 87. 2-1 Carroll calls time as Weaver misses high. Too bad, Carroll Cutter up in the zone, grounded hard to the right side, but right to Rizzo, who takes it to the bag, inning over.
Top 6, 5-1 Yanks.
Cabrera, Torres, Soto for the Yanks in the 6th. Lets see if Castro stays in.

Now we'll see if back end of the pen can handle the D'Backs offense.

Great outing from Gil! Pulled at 84 pitches. Amazingly, it coincided with Boone's favorite 4 and 2/3rds pitching change. Boone's uniform number should be 4 2/3.

That K zone is definitely getting wider FB misses outside by 2-3 inches called strike 1 anyway. I don't mind a wide K zone with the Yanks up 4, just as long as he doesn't shrink it later.
2-1 on Cabrera. Change on the corner away, tapped to the right of the mound, Castro pounces on it, flips to Walker, 1 down.

I suppose I’d rather see Gil come out than to see him hurt his arm on pitch # 86… sigh…

Slider backs up way inside, ball 1 on Torres. FB well inside near the top, Torres tries to turn on it and fouls it off. Torres guesses FB by location, but it's a slider and he misses early pulling off it. Another high slider but in the zone, Torres spoils. Slider backs up well inside, 2-2 FB to the outside corner here? Tried for it, but it misses and this time Vanover doesn't give the call, 3-2 Slider in the zone near the outside corner, popped foul near the stands, Walker reaches over the wall and catches, 2 down.

Soto 2-3 with a RBI and a BB vs. Castro Swings under a sinker at the top, trying to blast one Tries to check on a Sinker above the zone, can't 0-2 3rd sinker way high, Soto takes. 1-2 Low slider in the zone, fools Soto, he rolls it over to Marte, who throws him out, inning over
Bottom 6, 5-1 Yanks. Offense has gone silent since Nelson I left the game

Well, as I said earlier, Castro is very good in low leverage.

Gil impressive after the first batter. The Gil-A Monster… if he ever hits a HR, you have a pic for him… at 100 MPH!!! I prefer King of the Gil!

Fb outside, ball 1 Cutter on the corner for a strike Changeup inside, 2-1 Change in the zone down and in topped foul off 3rd, 2-2 FB at the top at 95 (!), fouled back. Tried to hump up and throw it by Walker at the top there. Cutter away, Pulled to short, Volpe backhands and throws out Walker, 1 down.
