Maciejewski becomes a strong contender for most difficult to spell Yankee player. Nice job by him His name's spelled just like it looks. It's as easy as spelling Doug Gwosdz.

Yanks win 7-0, get to 9-2 on the season. Rays are in Anaheim later to face the Angels Jays lead the M's 1-0 bottom 3
Red Sox and O's have the night off. Yanks lead the Sox by 1 1/2, the O's by 3. The Rays will be either 4 or 5 games back and the Jays will be 5 or 6.
A so-so Carlos Rodon, 2.79 ERA, but 12 hits and 5 BB allowed in 9 2/3 innings with just 7 K's in two starts, matches up against a struggling A.J. Puk, 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in just 6 innings in 2 starts with 8 hits and 9 BB allowed.
Game is at 7:05 on YES.
That'll do it for me, see you tomorrow evening. Good night to all. Bye!

Yeah, Polish and Finnish names can cause a lot of grief.

Missed the game because of an iftar (break fast for Ramadan) invitation like I mentioned earlier, but I'm so happy that Nestor had a big performance and Soto hit his first HR in the Bronx. Also nice to see Volpe go deep. 9-2 boys! Can't complain!

4 pitch inning for Maciejewski… Almost tied a record in his debut ... In a non-comprehensive list on Baseball Almanac there are only 203 known 3- pitch innings ever thrown…

Switched the game from 101.9 to 66. Watched the rest on my phone. Huge W and quick game. Keep it rolling.

spent the day skiing waiting for the total eclipse. incredible experiencing it from the top of a mtn and then skiing down in the "twilight". band at the base performed the entire "dark side of the moon" album adding to the fun.
after 3 series against 3 tough teams we catch a break w one of the worst teams.
looks like a great win w HRs by soto & volpe, verdugo 3 hits and 2 more hits for stanton. a 2 hitter and 8 solid from nestor giving the bullpen a deserved nite off. know it was only the marlins but maybe nestor's gonna be alright after all. 9-2. team keeps rolling ...

His name's spelled just like it looks. It's as easy as spelling Doug Gwosdz. Wasn't there a QB for GB awhile back who's last name was similar to our new pitcher?

It's as easy as spelling Doug Gwosdz. Wasn't there a QB for GB awhile back who's last name was similar to our new pitcher? You might be thinking of "Majik Man" Don Majkowski. I thought of him when Maciejewski came into the game too. Not to be confused with former Tiger third baseman Phil Mankowski.

This was one of those games that doesn't fall into the category of "it's never easy". Great job Nestor and the rest of the Yankee crew!

POTG...Cortes HM..Volpe and Soto I agree, Cortes gave the bullpen a much needed rest. He also looked like he had more control and zip on his pitches than he did in his two prior starts.
