Yankees no longer take infield practice before games. Over time that can have negative repercussions. After all, rest is more important.  |

Wooo, got away with one. Waist high FB inside corner and Naylor fouls it straight back. Was supposed to be outside, too.

Nestor humps up to 93, throws the FB in a very risky spot: waist high, inner 3rd, but he misses under, foul tips it into the mitt.
He was sitting at 90-1 that innings, but amped up on that last one. Maybe the whole staff is trying the Cole thing this season.
Top 2, 0-0. 21 pitches for Nestor in the 1st, Allen threw 17 in his half.
Rizzo, Torres and Verdugo for the Yanks.

Rizzo goes after a 1st pitch cutter just below middle middle, but misses under and pops to Laureano in short right center, 1 down.

Then takes a change barely on the corner away.

FB up and in ties up Torres, his soft grounder to Arias is the 2nd out.

Verdugo...
Gets a break on a FB on the corner away, not called. 2-1 and not 1-2.
And a makeup on the FB just off the low outside corner, called strike 2.
FB misses outside at the top by 2-3 inches. Hedges tried to pull it back to the corner, but no sale.
Verdugo walks, bringing up Trevino with man on 1st, 2 down.
