Soto takes a bounced splitter, 2-1
Gausman hits the low inside corner at 96, but Soto gets the Soto-call, 3-1
Splitter outside, ball 4. Can't blame him for pitching around Soto to get to Judge and Rizzo
Judge doesn't really have good numbers against Gausman, Flats. He belted him BEFORE he change his assortment and he hit a HR of him last game, but in 2022-23, he's 1-14 vs. Gausman with 6 K.

Guesses splitter by count and location, and Gausman blows the FB him at 96 down and in. Yankees offense will be struggling unless Gausman loses some stuff by the 4th-5th inning.

0-1 FB in the drop the bat happy zone, lined hard to right for a hit. Soto must stop at 2nd with 2 down as the ball went right to Springer.

Again, Flats, those numbers aren't as good as they look, because most of that came before Gausman changed his pitch mix with the Giants in 2021.
Also, Stanton has lost bat trigger speed as he's aged.
2-0 on Stanton. FB inside ties him up, fouled back.

Arrgggh. Got a pitch to hit, but was late and under a 97 FB below and outside of middle, fouled off. 3-2
Runners will go.
Splitter bounced, ball 4.
Bases loaded, two down.
Don't try to be a hero and load up, Gleyber, a single to right center would be very big here.

Hanging slider surprised Gleyber, takes it for a waist high strike, outer half.
Swings over a 2nd slider down and away, 0-2
Gleyber looks lost.

Blows the FB by him up and in at 98. Excellent pitch sequencing, slowed the bat down with two sliders, and Torres had no way to adjust to that FB even though it was well within the zone. K, inning over. Yanks get a big chance to strike early and fail.
The only good news is they made Gausman throw 27 pitches. That might make a difference in the middle innings.
