Brown takes a sinker low/away in the zone for strike 1.
Not pitching to the edges on that splitter.
Left it hanging in the middle, but Brown was early, pulled it but well foul down the line.
Sinker down and in, Brown drops the bat on it, lines it to right, Soto got a jump, but it was too far in front, tries to dive for a backhand grab, misses, deflects off him, and by the time he can recover and throw home, it's not in time to get Rooker scoring from 1st.
1-0 A's, scored a double as Brown got to 2nd on the throw home

Qwik, one of these days I’m going to ask to join you in the booth for an inning… Fine with me, inger, my act could use a good analyst... Nevin misses a waist high sinker on the outside corner on the 2-2 to K and end the inning. Bottom 1, 1-0 A's. Stroman wound up throwing 23 pitches in the 1st, with two long at bats after getting the first two batters quickly. Stats say that Blackburn's very low ERA is misleading because of very low BABIP and very high strand percentage. I suppose we'll see soon for ourselves. |

Hanging cutter above middle, and AGAIN, he's late and under, fouled off, 2-2
Still not right with his swing.
Sinker waist high outside corner, a somewhat better swing but still late and under, fouled off.
Throw over.
Sinker inner half, bounced hard down 3rd, Nevin tries to slider to his backhand, but the topspin hop bullets it past Nevin, and it goes for a double down the line, Soto to 3rd with 1 out
