Volpe also swings 1st pitch, fouls off a FB above middle Then gets a cutter in the wrong spot, a hanger in the middle, and drives it out to right center, the HUGE 3 run shot gives the Yanks a big 4-0 lead!!!

Soto could easily have two hits today.

That was a cutter, Jeff, not the FB, it moved left, right into the heart of the zone and Volpe didn't miss. Volpe's 3rd HR is a big one: 106 mph, 400 feet, 24º launch angle, a HR in 19 of 30 MLB parks.
Soto works the count to 3-2, gets a waist high cutter away, grounds it sharply to the right of 2nd, but Turang is outstanding, makes a teriffic stop on a dive to his backhand, gets up, throws out Soto, inning over.

Bottom 5, 4-0 Yanks, who did what they had to do today, got to Myers before Murphy could bring his big bullpen guns to bear.
13 pitches for Murphy in the 5th, and 64 total.

Top of the order for the Brewers in the 5th, Frelick, Contreras, and Adames. Stroman falls behind 3-0 on Frelick, and then way up and away for ball 4. Leadoff walk is not what you want the inning after your offense gives you a bigger lead.

Arggggg, come on with that. Tapper down 3rd, Cabrera charges, do-or-die play, but he fumbles the pickup for an infield hit, and Stroman is in big trouble again. Yanks should probably get someone up right now. 1st and 2nd, no outs for Adames

I'm not sure I'm buying that one.

Miller Park is one of the best HR parks in the NL, behind Coors and Great American, and the Phillies park maybe. Adames pulls the first pitch foul off 3rd. Takes a cutter on the inside corner, 0-2 Fouls off a slider outside, 0-2 Slider outside, 1-2 Slider just below middle middle, and Adames hammers it to left center, Soto makes an excellent play cutting it off, but still can't hold Adames to a single, because he couldn't stop and throw right away. Run scores, 4-1 Yanks. Bauers up, and Boone FINALLY gets the bullpen up. Bauers dangerous here, because Stroman is making mistakes.
