With Verdugo, hopefully Judge and Gleyber can get hot off their weekend in Milwaukee.

Not a good start for Schmidt. Gunnar takes him deep.

I forgot this was a 6:37 start, thought it was 7:07. I suppose it's too late for the preview posts.
But I still have these... Yanks' lineup vs. Rodriguez.
Volpe is 0-2 Soto is 0-3 with 1 K and 1 GIDP Judge is 0-1 with 2 BB Verdugo is 1-3 with a double and a K Stanton is 0-3 with a K Rizzo is 1-3 with a K Torres is 0-3 Cabrera, Wells and Trevino have never faced him
Grisham is unlikely to bat against Rodriguez tonight, but if he does, he's 0-2 against him But now I hear Verdugo is on paternity leave, so Grisham is in the lineup tonight against the tough lefty righty.

Yesterday, the Yanks walloped the Brerwers again, 15-5. Craig Kimbrel blew a save, giving up a 2 run HR in the top of the 9th to a guy I never heard of before, Kyle McCann, and the O's lost 7-6. The Cubs rallied to score 3 in the 8th and 9th to tie up the Sox, 4-4, but Boston got a walkoff bloop single in the bottom of the 9th from Tyler O'Neill, who's off to a white hot start (leads the AL in OBA now, and all of MLB in slugging and OPS) to pull out the 5-4 win. The Jays salavage the last game of the Dodgers series behind a very strong start from Kevin Gausman, who seems to be back to his bad self, 3-1. And the Rays let the historically bad White Sox sweep them in Chicago, winning 4-2 behind another good game from multi-team retread Eric Fedde. The Yanks therefore come into Baltimore for the big 4-game series in 1st, 1 game up on the O's, 3 up on the Sox, 5 up on the Jays, and 6 ahead of the Rays.
As for the other three teams in the East: The Jays host the Royals at 7:07 in Toronto. Rookie Jonathan Bowlen makes his 2nd MLB start against Cuban import Yariel Rodriguez. The Rays replace the Yanks in Milwaukee to face the Brewers at 6:40. Hard-throwing righty ex-Dodger Ryan Pepiot, the key piece in the trade of Glasnow vs. soft-tosser ex-Brave Bryse Wilson. The Red Sox have the night off, then the Giants come in to Fenway to begin a three-game series tomorrow evening.

Schmidt isn't fooling anyone. All hard hit balls so far.

Schmidt fooling no one so far. A solo HR by Henderson. A deep fly out to center by Rutschmann. O'Hearn lines a single to right. Santander hits a short pop to Cabrera at 3rd. Schmmidt finally got soft contact on a batter. 2 down.
