I generally liked Palmer in the booth, but he's getting more Smoltzean as he pushes 80. His strike zone doesn't seem to match up with what I am seeing on the screen. Man, he was a thing of beauty to watch on the mound. Most fluid delivery I ever saw. And few remember that he was injured as a young player, and so badly so that he was considering switching to the infield. He got bad on the mound and the rest, as they say, is history. Or as Casey said, you could look it up… I remember when he had that back injury early in the 1967 season and essentially missed two years.

Mullins 0-2 with a RBI groundout vs. Hamilton. Kjerstad has never faced him. Urias is 1-2 with a double against him.

Hamilton comes in wild missing all over the place. FB up and in, slider down and in, FB outside, 3-0 Fb near the inside corner but in the zone 3-1 FB low, ball 4 Brutal start for Ian.

Ferguson gets 2 K's in short order but he's replaced in the 8th. Welcome to baseball in 2024.

With the way Ferguson was pitching, did he need to be removed?

With the way Ferguson was pitching, did he need to be removed? It's the way most managers do it these days. Let's try all the relievers to find the one that doesn't have it.

Fb up in the zone, dangerous spot, but fouled off, 1-2 Ruh roh. FB just misses up and in according to Gameday, but somehow hits him, and Boone is trapped again. Must leave Hamilton in to face Urias. 1st and 2nd nobody out.
