Hope that Ruthie is okay inger! Keep us posted. The breathing is something she’ll have to live with. Perhaps more because of the elevation, of course. I don’t want to move, but I’d like to for her. She insists she will not move. The lump is nothing until it’s something, if you get that. She went for a mamo and they saw a shadow. She went back and they still aren’t sure, so now they want to do another more intensive look. There is no current indication of any cancer or anything of concern, but we’ll go to great lengths to assure her health is okay. The hospital was supposed to call her for scheduling, but in the typical world of hospitals they claim not to have received the order from our doctor who is now on vacation. So there’s a bit of a delay until he gets back… Thanks for the details. Praying that the lump is nothing.

Wasn't part of this board, so I don't know anything about DoMe, other then what I've read in this thread, but I'm still sorry to hear about his troubles, and I wish him well. The older I get, the more bad health news I hear about friends, family, acquaintances, past colleagues at work, famous people I've never met and will never meet, and, in this case people on a message board I've never even "chatted" with, the more John Donne's For Whom the Bell Toles speaks ever louder to me.
I don't know if it will mean anything to DoMe, but I wish him as well as he can hope for in his situation.

I for one can speak of the generosity and kindness of the members of this site. Two years ago I cancer in both lungs and had to have two surgeries. Kaybli and those who around then showed me who they are when they continually checked on how I was doing. They still do today. No one else does. I have told Gloria many times how lucky I am to have found the richness of friends on this site and I've never met any of them. We're all rooting for you Mike, and thanks to you and Tequila for being a part of our little "family". You won't be forgotten. After what you must have gone through and suffered Matt, I still get emotional thinking about how you pulled through and came back to us. To those that are new here, it’s about the Yankees. Sure it is. But somehow it’s about a hell of a lot more. It’s about life and how life should be instead of all of the tribes of humanity trying to figure out how to own everything. I got a text from Mike this morning and here he is, broke his pee bag this morning. You know what he’s worried about? My wife’s breathing, and a small lump that was found on her right breast. He’s praying for her, and he’s sincere. Says he needs to stop feeling sorry for himself… inger, I as read this thread, you and Ruthie are on my mind this morning. You are so right. I came to this site for Yankee baseball, but found friends and all the humanity that goes along with it.

When we’re young we think it’s always going to be someone else that gets the disease, or whatever tragedy is imposed on them. Given time, one day it becomes us. I admire the attitude Steve Jobs’ attitude when he found out he had a rare pancreatic cancer. Considering the odds from a factual standpoint when asked “why you?, he replied “Why not me?”…

I was brought to tears from the Posts on this thread. Even though some of the posters and myself have very opposing views on not only Prospects but world affairs and yes more so politics- Yet here we are FRIENDS who never met. Proves my first thought:-There is HOPE A. You are HOPE. 2. I m HOPE 3. And together yes ONY together, we have to be together to have hope for all of my mankind and nature- THERE IS HOPE if WE choose HOPE and make the sacrifices WE need to make HOPE happen, for right now America, the World and Nature needs HOPE.
It is truly an honor to have a thread on a WITHOUT DOUBT the best board on the ENTIRE internet. It is like I won the WS. Thanks so much Kaybil. You are amazing.
Second Thought: If over 50 years get a very simple/easy Prostate Blood Test yearly. If the rating is over #5 get it handled ASAP.
Third Thought: I just had the Jeweler over the other day to take my jewelry and sell it so I can set up educational funds for my caregivers children. I was very sad to see my jewelry go but I finally realized = Why did I ever buy this stuff = Buy NOT what you want but ONLY what you need. Use the other $$$ for investments, future medical expenses, travel, helping others in need, etc. Your spirit will increase and you will be more positive and live a better life.
Fourth Thought: The other day I was feeling really sorry for myself until I heard from Inger about Ruthie. I felt like a complete idiot because they are currently so many others so worse off than me. I felt very selfish...
Fifth Thought: I have met Angels, three of them = My three caregivers = Thy wash me, cook for me, change my diapers, help me walk get up from my bed and chair and help me on the toilet. Their actions, attitudes and spirits make me feel like I have done nothing in life compared to them. The other day my pee bag broke open twice spilling my pee all over myself, my chair, the floor, etc. It was like a FLOOD, yet not a complaint from them. HONOR THY CAREGIVER for they are truly angels!!!
I was laughing with a friend on the phone when he said, you will probably win the Huge Power Ball Lotto days before you die and after you die the Yankees will win the WS. Just my luck. Go figure...
Sixth Thought: EVERYDAY do something GOOD and as much good as you can. At night before going to bed look in your mirror and ask yourself What GOOD did I do today and what GOOD will I do Tomorrow?
Seventh Thought: As Mr. Winston Churchill said, Never, ever never ever give up HOPE.
Last Thought: Yes, you are entitled to your own opinion but NOT to your own facts.
GO GO YANKEES = Form a box...hold, hold, hold the box to protect our Prospects for they our are Yankee Future.
Love and Hope to all of you and BRAVO to Mr. Kaybil!!!!

It appears you are no longer having to type your messages, buddy! Way to go! Dome, when the end of my working days came I told Ruthie our focus needed to be on needs, not wants. She is not a person that wants fancy things. Because we have focused more on needs than wants we are finding it ever easier to live within a greatly reduced income. It’s a lifestyle we’re both quite comfortable with. The one “want” that Ruthie still has is dining out, so I’ve decided that we will do that more, for her…

DoMe, that was an eloquent statement. I know you like to wager. I hope that hasn't changed with all of the Triple Crown races and major golf tournaments looming. I am wagering that your gift for humor plus the number of people and birds in your life who need you around will give you a greatly extended warranty. Thank you for hanging out with us for a bit, and we look forward to much more from you.

We're all here for you DoMe. Like in the movie "Freaks", you're "one of us".
I can hear Aaron Judge giving a pre-game speech right before the 7th game of the World Series and he finishes it with, "go out there and give it all you got and win just one for the DoMe".
