Dome has reported that he has stage 4 prostate cancer. He may live up to a year. It’s unlikely that we will see him back on the forum because he is also suffering from severe pain and tingling/numbness in his hands that he says made the 100-word e-mail he types to me a half hour task of excruciating pain.
His prognosis is less than a year to live. It’s a sad time for me, as we are losing a brother here. Yet, he maintains his sense of humor, relating that Tequila is laughing at him because he’s waking with a cane and must wear a diaper. He also sends his best to the forum members, and reminds us to not put off tests of the prostate nor surgery if needed.
Hail to Domeplease. If only you new members could ever get the true flavor of what a kooky and unusual man he is.

In Maryland I lived next door to a man who died from that. His wife said he basically spent the last two months crying in pain. Itxx so a horrible way to go out…

Tell him he will be in my prayers. Sending him love and well wishes. Of course he is keeping his sense of humor. I wouldn't expect anything less from dome!

That may be better for him.

I will never be able to form a box without thinking of him.

All we can do is celebrate the time we had (maybe will still have if he can come back). We all have our turn at leaving here. We just don’t know when or how…

He got a real charge out of your comments, Matt. Actually laughed out loud. He says hello to you and thanks you for thinking of him. Greeting friends from Mike Domingue (Domeplease) to all on the forum!… I just received an email from Mike that brought tears to my eyes. He's sending me some old books and a check as a token of appreciation for running the board. I told him, with his permission, that I'm going to donate his check to our charity in Dhaka, Bangladesh that will help build orphanages, food banks, and pool money for education for those that can't afford. What a guy that dome is: zany, unique, but most importantly kind and compassionate. I'm sorry our new members did not have a chance to interact with him. Here's to our good friend Mike! I will always be thankful for his friendship.

I'm going to move the dome posts here. It deserves its own thread to say the least.

Jeez, I've been off the site for a few days and just seeing this news. Sincere best wishes to DoMe, who has been an integral part of this forum for a long time. He has a gift for imaginative humor that has made me laugh out loud on many occasions. Plus his bets on golf tournaments have always enhanced my knowledge of the game. And served as a warning about the dangers of gambling. I'm going to assume the best and hope to see him back here soon.
