Change inside 3-1
FB above the inner 3rd, Torres starts but checks in time, ball 4.
Blanco at 22 pitches this inning.
Maybe Wells can catch up with a mistake, if Blanco makes one.

Durn… 2nd actually, fouled back a FB up on pitch #9 Wells swings over a slider on the low inside corner, 0-1 Takes a bounced change, 1-1 Slider outer 3rd taken 1-2 FB above where the slider went, and goes with it the other way, but the fliner goes right o Loperfido, shading him toward the line. Inning over. Top 5, 3-2 Astros. 26 pitches for Blanco in the 4th, and amazingly, Stroman has passed by him to the inside, at 73 through 4. Tucker, Alvarez and Pena get their 3rd look at Stroman. If he gets through this one unscathed, the Yanks have a real shot to steal this game back. |

Slurve hangs waist high, inside corner, but Tucker pulls it foul off 1st.
Slider hangs outside, 1-1
Splitter dives just outside, and Tucker rolls over on it to Torres to the right of 2nd, throws him out, 1 down.

1st pitch sinker waist high, inside corner, and Alvarez turns on it and hammers it into the RF corner where it sort of dies, Easy double.
Could've been worse, would've been and easy HR if he just got under that one a bit more.

Pena pulls off a slider going low/away, 0-2
Slider several inches further outside, and Pena just watches it go by, 1-2
Tries to back the sinker over the corner, didn't just miss, Mikey, missed by 4-5 inches.

Sinker above the knees near middle, Pena hammers it up the middle to the left of 2nd, just pastadivingVolpe, off the end of his mitt into left. Alvarez reads it right, and scores on Judge's throw without a play.
4-2 Astros on the RBI single.

1st pitch to Singleton is popped near the mound, Stroman calls, then Cabrera calls him off late, catches, and throws to 1st, somehow doubling off a sleeping Pena. No way that should ever be a double play.
Torres makes some baserunning mistakes, but I can't remember one worse than that one by Pena. Unusual DP on a high pop near the mound ends the inning.
Bottom 5, 4-2 Astros.
The DP also limits Stroman's pitches to 10, 83 total through 5.
Cabrera, then back to the top as Volpe and Soto get their 3rd look at Blanco.
