Judge swings over a change, tips a slider foul.
FB way high, slider outside, 2-2
Slider in the middle and arggg, Judge misses, fouls it off.
Great take on a great change that was in the zone most of the way, then fell low 2-3 inches. Good call by the ump, too.
Change up in the zone, Judge mistimes, hits a high fly to right center, Crowd oohhhs and ahhhs, but it gets knocked down in the wind, dies in medium right center. Dubon catches, 2 down.

Volpe's 5th HR: 98.2 mph, 330 feet, 42 degree launch angle, a HR in 4 (???) of 30 parks? Really? Wow. 4? I guess it wraps the Pesky pole. Besides that, maybe Philly and Baltimore if it clears the wall? Fenway, Petco (SD) and Oracle Park (SF) were the other 3. Verdugo takes a change low, then a slider down and in. Fb for a strike in the zone down and in. Rolls over on a slider down and in to Altuve, throws him out, inning over. 22 pitches in the 3rd, and 53 through 3 for Blanco. Top 4, 3-2 Astros. Loperfido, Dubon, and back to the top for Altuve for the Astros in their 4th. |

Loperfido...
Sinker down and in, 1-0
Sinker outside, flared foul off 3rd, 1-1
Splitter outside corner fouled, 1-2
Hangs the slider inner 3rd, and Loperfido hits a hard grounder to the right of 2nd, Volpe was playing just to the left side, gets there easily, throws him out by a step, 1 down.

Stroman gets the first "generous" call of the day that I've seen, unless the umpire gave one when I was walking the dogs. Otherwise he's had a very tight zone.

Dubon takes a slider outside, 1-0
Pops a cutter inside just over the Yankees dugout, good catch by a fan in the Moneybags seats. 1-1
Slider low and outside, 2-1
Backs a sinker somewhere near the outside corner and gets a very favorable call 2-2. 0% on Gameday, missed by 2 maybe 3 inches.
Slider on the low outside corner spoiled.
Slider way low and outside, Dubon checks well in time, 3-2
Cutter starts on the outer 3rd, bends a little and Dubon pulls off it for the K, 2 down.

Slider near the outside corner thigh high, Altuve tries to yank this one like he yanked the flare hit off the end of the bat last time up, his drive dies in Judge's mitt in fairly deep left center, inning over.
Much needed 12 pitch 1-2-3 for Stroman, 73 through 4.
Stanton, Rizzo and Torres for the Yanks in the 4th.

Now that's the kind of inning you have to have when you're facing 8-9-1. I don't think Stroman has any of his pitches working well today, but he's trying to stay off the corners and keep hitters off balance.

Change misses low/away 1-1
Backleg slider taken, 2-1

Slider thigh high inner 3rd, in the drop the bat happy zone, but he tops it foul off 1st, 2-2
Slider outer 3rd, Rizzo off balance, emergency hack fouls it off.
Slider at the top, Rizzo a bit late, spoils it off the left side.
Emergency hack gets a piece of a change well low/and outside, still 2-2
Slider waist high, inside corner, fouled back.
8th pitch of the AB coming, Rizzo working Blanco here.
Fb at the top, fouled back
Ronel has tried all of his pitches except the curve.
Slider down and in out of the zone fouled.
Tries the curve low over the inner half, and he spoils that one too.

He's tried every pitch and nearly every location.
FB on the high outside corner, spoiled back.
Rizzo putting a Mookie Betts on Blanco,
But it doesn't pay off. Goes with a change diving well out of the zone, low/away, Rizzo clearly in swing at everything mode, must take that one, and didn't.

Alright, I'm going to start cooking dinner so it's done before the Rangers face-off. You guys do me a favor and find some runs here for the Yankees. Rizzo is doing his part by getting Blanco's pitch count up, but the good part of the Trashtros' pen is well rested.
