My personal reluctance to give up Garcia or Florial sort of corners is in a position of standing pat...I’d also rather not give up on Abreu, but might for the right offer.
The sport is out of whack to the point right now that only a few pitchers in the entire sport are posting exceptional stats. Even those few could be hit with a bad game or two and suddenly find themselves back in the pack (see Minor, Mike).
Standing pat might not be the worst thing to do...

As dumb as that is from a baseball perspective it makes sense if you think about the way the Wilpons have (mis)managed this business. They care more about losing the casual fan to the Yankees than anything else. You'd think they'd want the best haul regardless of where it came from. It really makes no sense, but the Yanks would probably do the same thing with the Mets if George was still alive. He's obsession with the Mets wasn't normal.

They would be better served to not make a deal at this point. What we have now is a team that's built to win a lot of games. What we don't have is a team built to make it through the playoffs. Chances of this team going anywhere in the post season are not very good at this point. They could improve if Severino and Betances magically appear and return to form. Aside from that why mortgage the future for no reason. No ones is giving up a number one and for number 3's they are asking the moon. Pitching has been a sore spot for over a decade now. Why it wasn't addressed earlier is puzzling. They had their chances but they skated. Seems kind of silly to give up the farm right now for a band-aid. Which is probably not a good sign for you... I think it was not addressed because the Yankees have very few good draft picks. So there is no easy way it could be addressed.

That slider is going to be annoying if we face them in the playoffs.

Sort of exciting to see someone make a move. There will be some corresponding moves made now...

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I forgot to welcome you to the Board, and I should have told you that we sometimes use song lyrics in order to, well, really for no particular reason, which is why my post to you had a Billy Joel verse (Half a Mile Away - 52nd Street Album). A few helpful hints regarding this Board: - If you have any trouble with the site or posting pics or really anything, just message Kaybli. He's our Mayor of Yankee Town, chief moderator, creator of HeAmyHa, undefeated champion of photoshop, and all-around great guy.
- Do not be afraid of DoMe, he's just on a really groovy, mescal-riddled, Gulf of Cortez wavelength and no one has yet contracted any communicable diseases from interactions online.
- If you want information on players of yore, just ask Pipps, Utah, Desouza, and/or Inger. It has been said that they first played baseball with those little flat finger gloves and before catcher's masks. Of course, that is just a rumor that was started by...well, no need going into it.
- Under no circumstances should you initiate any conversations with Inger regarding gravel, pounded stones, pebbles, rocks, grit, shingle, or any loose sedimentary, igneous, or water-worn aggregate. All future interventions and 12-step mentorships shall be announced in private messaging.
- Noetsi - unfortunately, some things must be learned the hard way. You're on your own, but most of us are available for online group and individual counseling or even should you need to vent.
- We are always looking for new voices and fresh perspectives. If you know any other Yankee fans or even just baseball fans, please encourage them to join.
Welcome to HeAmyHa!
- By the way, Rizzuto is not a sobriquet, it is my real surname. Geaux Yankees!
