He's a great prospect. I worked my team into the 2nd slot in our minor league draft, hoping to grab him or Dylan Crews of the Nats. but Skenes separated himself from Crews in the spring and the guy ahead of me took him. Then I went off chalk and took infielder Matt Shaw of the Cubs instead of Crews. Skenes is the whole package at 21 years old. Natural leader, intelligent, hard worker, tough, attention to detail. Three shutout innings, two hits, two walks, four strikeouts thus far against the Cubs. Yeah... I know...

Judge misses a FB up in the zone, 0-1 Slider outside 1-1 Sinker inside, 2-1 Gets a slider below middle middle and misses, fouling it off FB up in the zone outer 3rd, Judge foul tips it into the mitt, K, 1 down.

Verdugo... Splitter outside, 1-0 Slider tries to bend into the zone on top, just stays high, 1-1. Jackson tried to pull it down, no sale. Slider on the inside corner above the knees, bounced foul off 1st. 2-1 Gets a 93 FB right down Broadway...and just...stares at it. Sigh, 2-2 Gets another one, recognizes late and fouls it off. Splitter starts in the zone, winds up low, taken, 3-2 Chases a slider out of the zone down and in, rolls over it to Diaz, takes it to the bag, 2 down.

Berti goes after a waist high FB outer 3rd on the 1st pitch, lines it back up the middle for a 2 out single. Rizzo due in, and Cash goes to his tricky lefty, Garrett Cleavinger, who pitched last night and K'd Soto in a big spot.
My first thought on the Name that Yankee was Kyle Farnsworth, but his career was a lot better than I remembered. The answer is famous Torre slag-arm, Tanyon Sturtze. I had to look at the 2004 roster to get that one.

Throw over on Berti. Cutter starts outer half, tails outside, Rizzo swings and misses, 0-1 Sinker near middle, but Rizzo misses under, pops high to medium left, DeLuca catches, inning over.
Bottom 6, 4-2 Rays.
Paredes, Ramirez and DeLuca for the Rays in their 6th.

Still feel like I see a completely different player than you do… Ok But next time he hits a ground ball to an infielder, watch to see how far he carries his bat when while running to first. No real evidence to add so far today, as the camera has been quickly placed on the fielder every time… though he never appeared in the picture in the sixth, though the play happened quickly…

So many quick hooks in today's game. I’m guessing 80 pitches is Littell’s Cinderella mark…

Good throw by Verdugo. Not in time.

Paredes... Cutter down and in 1-0 Change outside 2-0 Takes a crushable cutter in the middle, thigh high, 2-1 Cortes gets a favorable call on a cutter 3 inches outside, 2-2 So he throws another a bit low and this one is called correctly, 3-2. Nestor doesn't like that call, but the one before was called wrong, not that one Cutter at or above the top, pulled foul
Cutter hangs above the waist outer 3rd, and Paredes is waiting for it, belted on a line over Verdugo in left, he plays the carom right, and the throw is on time, but Volpe has to lunge as Paredes cleverly slides to the mound side away from the tag. Not a great slide, he jammed his foot hard, but he stays on the bag. His slide got him the double, Jeff, in spite of your calling it a "bad" slide.

FB way high to Ramirez. Blake goes out to calm Nestor and argue with the umpire. The call Nestor wanted on Paredes before the double was, in fact not a strike and in fact, not close to a strike Cutter on the high outside corner, 1-1 Swings under a FB above the zone, 1-2 Fb up and in, Ramirez chases and foul tips it into the mitt for the K, 1 down.
And Nestor is done for the day at 89 pitches Boone brings in Santana to pitch to DeLuca and Caballero at least Cash can counter with several lefties if he wants to, including Lowe, Shenton and Palacios. He can also PH Rortvedt for Jackson, but with a 2 run lead, almost certainly won't.
