Imanaga pitching another gem, just 1 hit and 1 BB with 3 K's, in 4 shutout innings against the Pirates in Wrigley.' Falter has given up just a BB in his 3 innings, so that game is 0-0 bottom 4.
Rays and Jays should be getting underway right...about...now.

Stanton... FB misses just low and outside, called a strike anyway, close, but 0% on Gameday Sinker misses down and in, 1-1 Slider near middle, taken, 1-2 FB up and in but in the zone, spoiled Same pitch almost exact same spot, spoiled again. Stanton spoiling 95 FBs from righties back to back is yet ANOTHER sign that he's on his game at the plate. Sinker inside makes him jackknife. 2-2 Slider into the top of the zone, smashed to left, but Benintendi makes a terrific catch, diving to his left, to take a double away from Stanton.

Fb outside, ball 1 on Rizzo Swings over a slider diving down and in, 1-1 Bounces a back leg slider 2-1 Slider on the corner away, Rizzo goes with it nicely, but the fliner goes right to Benintendi in left for out #2. Good swing, good contact, at least.

This is turning into one of Cashman's greatest hits.

This is turning into one of Cashman's greatest hits. When we all get pissed and moan about a few bad contracts or prospect hugging, we need to remind ourselves about this pick up…

FB at the top, fouled back, 0-1 on Torres Good sinker starts in the zone, dives inside at the top, Torres swings under it, 9-2 Torres starts on a FB well high, checks in time. 1-2 Slider well low/away, taken, 2-2 Slider into the top of the zone, in the middle, Torres takes the big HR hero hack, swings under for the K.
1-2-3 for Soroka, though the Yanks hit 2 balls hard. Stanton's liner was 112.8, Rizzo's was 94.5
Top 8, 6-1 Yanks. 17 pitch 1-2-3 for Soroka, 59 pitches for his 3 innings.
Top of the order for the White Sox vs. Burdi in the 8th: Pham, Sheets and Vaughn.

Slider bounced outside, 2-2 Ok to show FB above the zone here by 4-6 inches. Instead a slider that was supposed to go outside corner hangs near middle, and Pham is EARLY bounces it foul off 3rd. Slider back up inside, 3-2 OK to challenge with FB here with 5 run lead. Even if he hits it out.

And that's why you challenge with the FB in that spot. Waist high, 97, outer 3rd, and he misses under it and pops to Judge just to the right of medium center. 1 down.

FB inside corner waist high to Sheets, taken for strike 1 Slider winds up low in the middle, Sheets starts but checks in time, 1-1 FB in the down and in happy zone, but Sheets is a bit late and under, fouls it off the left side. 1-2 FB on the low inside corner, Sheets spoils it foul Change drops into the zone low/away, Sheets hangs back long enough, then serves it to right for a hit, Soto jogs over, cuts it off, and gets it back in.

Man on 1st, 1 out for FB FB up and in, popped out of play well behind the Yankee dugout. Swings over a slider low over the middle of the plate, 1-2 Slider away, popped to Judge in center, comes in a few steps, catches, 2 down.
About Tommy John for the Hall of fame, I think he eventually gets in. On Baseball Reference, 8 of his top 10 comops are now in the Hall, and that's my favorite quick, dirty measuring tool to see whether a player should go in or not.
