Burns a FB above the knees outside middle at 96, 0-1 on Judge. Change starts outside corner, clips the knees outside middle, Judge behind the 8-ball here, 0-2 Slider bounced outside, Lee makes a terrific lunge to prevent a wild pitch, 1-2 Blows the FB by Judge at the top of the zone for the K. 2 down
And that's why righties will DEFINITELY pitch around Soto with a base open to get to Judge. Judge simply has more holes to exploit.

Soto takes a curve in the drop the bat happy zone for a strike. No matter, because he gets a sinker almost in the same spot, and hits it to Yonkers. Deep blast just to the right of the main bleachers makes it 6-1 Yanks. Soto's 2nd HR of the game, the Yankees 4th makes it 6-1 Yanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ron Davis's place in Yankee history remains secure. Big burly, bespectacled right-hander. Threw 131 innings of relief in 1980. That's a starter's innings now. Hard to believe he was only with the Yankees for four years -- 27-10 with an ERA+ of 133. He went to the Twins in the Roy Smalley deal and was never very good after that. Even son Ike is long gone from the big leagues.

There’s no way they can let this kid walk in FA. Would be easily Top 5 biggest mistake in Yankees history Derek Jeter was right when he said it last year he's always been the missing piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Verdugo tries to jump a 1st pitch FB outside corner. Unfortunately it was a change and he popped it up to DeJong to end the inning. Yanks leave them loaded in the 6th.
Top 7, 6-1 Yanks Burdi in to relieve Gil, who threw his 4th great game in a row. 6 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 1 BB and 14 K's
7-8-9 for the White Sox, Lee, Lopez and Mendick.

Slider on the outside corner just below the waist, taken, 0-1 Fb misses outside by 3 inches, called a strike anyway. No idea where this guy's K zone actually is. That one was not close, 0% on Gameday by a good 3-4 inches. Slider outside, 1-2 FB well outside, 2-2 FB with some sink hits the knees on the outer half, Lee guessing slider by location and count, just stares at it. There have been some bad ball/strike calls, but that wasn't one of them ꓘ, 1 down./

FB well inside lowbridges Lopez. 1-0 FB down the middle, but he misses under, pops to Judge in center, 2 down.

Surprisingly he held the Twins closer job for several years despite higher ERA’s…from 82-85 he went 17-34: 3.99, 106 saves…

Also can't forget having a real LF and not the AAAA player of the week helps a lot. I guess verdugo just needed a chance of scenery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mendick, DOWN BY FIVE WITH 2 OUTS AND NOBODY ON, goes after a 1st pitch FB at the top, just inside middle, and hits a can o'corn to Judge to end the inning.
Shake my damn head.
Bottom 7, 6-1 Yanks. Soroka at 42 pitches, but might stay in there to face Stanton, Rizzo and Torres.
