Ferguson gets lucky, as Wisely pops up a fat pitch.

FB inside middle, but Wisely misses the cookie, then slams the bat down in disgust, high pop to short left, Verdugo comes in, calls everyone off, catches, inning over. Ferguson tip-toes into and out of trouble. Top 8, 4-3 Yanks.
Top of the order; Volpe-Soto-Judge to face Ryan Walker, coming in to relieve Webb. Walker pitching great so far this year, 38-5 K/BB ratio, just 1 HR and a 2.17 ERA in 29 innings. Two pitch righty: FB 95, about 55%; Slider 83 about 45%.

Sidearm slinger, turns his back on the righty hitter.
Slider outside middle, 0-1 Sinker hits the zone at the knees, not called, 1-1, 40% on Gameday Sinker into the top, fouled, 1-2 Slider dives outside, Volpe can't stay with it, pulls off for the K, 1 down.

Why do the Yankees always have to face these side arm guys?

Sinker on the inside corner, at 95 taken, 0-1 on Soto] Beats him up in the zone on a 97 sinker near middle, 0-2 Same pitch a bit higher above the zone, and Soto swings under for the K, 2 down. Walker dominating so far.

Rubber-armed bastard has a good fastball and a really good slider.

Why do the Yankees always have to face these side arm guys? Because everybody has one now, except maybe the Yanks. Sinker backs over the corner away at the knees, taken, 0-1 on Judge Same pitch maybe an inch higher, Judge takes it again, 0-2 Same pitch about 2 inches outside, hit up the middle to the gap between SS and 2nd, Wisely has to backhand on the move, and his throw emulates Volpe's goes over everyone, doesn't go out of play, infield hit for Judge.
