Sinker tails out of the middle, Freeman timed it right, but hit it off the top of the bat foul off the right side.
Curve misses down and in, 1-1
Sinker low, hit up the middle, Poteet reaches for it but misses, bounces to Volpe on the right side of 2nd, throws him out, 1 down.

FB outer 3rd above the waist, taken, 0-1 on Smith.
Slider misses outside above the knees, 1-1. Gameday says 5% though
FB up in the zone, in the middle, fouled off, 1-2
Seems to shorten up his swing, fouls off a curve on the corner away.
Sinker outside, 2-2
Sinker backs on to the outside corner at 94, above the waist, Smith spoils.

Slider hangs waist high, outer 3rd, but Smith misses late and under, popped back of 1st, Rizzo loses it in the twilight, but Judge calls him off and bails him out, 2 down.

Sinker gets away from Hernandez up and in, he ducks but it hits him on the back of the left shoulder, which he threw up in self-defense. HBP, man on 1st, 2 down.

Bounces a change inside, and Trevino tries the snap throw again, but Hernandez gets back, 2-1
Change tails outside, thigh high, chased and missed, 2-2
Throw over, Teoscar dives back well in time
FB up and in catches Heyward halfway, his emergency half swing bounces it foul straight down.
Change just low below the drop the bat happy zone, pulled hard but well foul off 1st.
A curve down and in, 6-8 inches low, again Heyward pulls it hard but grounds it foul.
20th pitch of the inning here.
Change misses well outside, 3-2

Change just below and outside of right down the middle, Heyward tops it right to Torres, who makes sure of the catch, then throws him out, inning over. Bottom 4, 0-0. 21 pitches for Poteet in the 4th, 66 through 4. Stanton, Rizzo and Torres for the Yanks in the 4th. O's get 2 in the 5th, lead the Rays 4-2 top 5 in Tampa. |
