Sinker at 98 dives inside, but Stanton chases, and it shatters his bat, resulting in a bouncer to Betts, who throws him out, 1 down.

FB above middle at 98.3, Torres takes the hugh HR hack, misses under it, strike 2.
Tremendous diving two plane splitter fools Torres, excellent pitch sequencing, blew the FB right by him the pitch before, made him start early, and he couldn't check in time and missed it by oh, a foot or so down and in for the K.
Great stuff, great command, knows what he's doing. That's how you win 3 triple crown, 3 MVPs and 3 "Cy Youngs" in a row.

11 pitches in the 3 pitch 4th and 66 through 4 for Yamamoto. Poteet is battling hard, but these two pitchers are not remotely in the same class.

The Yankee lineup is a lot shorter without Soto, and it shows. It isn't that so much as it is the lack of a hitter than Yamamoto's stuff can't overmatch. Pages gets a FB above middle, fouls it off. Curve waist high outer 3rd, lifted to medium deep center, Grisham goes back to get it like it's nothing. 1 down. That's what Torres was trying to do with that popup, but couldn't. |
