FB above the zone, called a strike anyway, 0%, Weaver got a break.
Cutter into the zone low away, Betts grounds it up the middle, not that hard, Torres backhands behind the bag, runs to 2nd still has time to make an outstanding throw for the 4-4-3 DP to get out of the jam!
I didn't think he'd get Betts but the throw beat him by more than enough. Excellent play by Torres there.
Inning over. Bottom 7, 5-3 Yanks
Trevino who made the gutsy throw to 3rd and got away with it, leads off, then back to the top for Vople and Verdugo, probably against another pitcher.

Just checked the game logs, this is the first time the Yanks have ever gotten as many as five runs off of Glasnow in a game.

FB misses just outside knee high, Ramirez wants the call but it missed by 2-3 inches, 3-2

Sinker above the knees in the middle, Goes the other way, hits a deep fliner to right, but well short, Heyward catches, 1 down.

FB runs inside, Volpe says it hit his arm, and it did, but it hit the bat. No HBP.

Volpe didn't react in pain, which he would've if it was a direct hit on the arm. That made me wonder.

Same sinker shooting at the outside corner. Missed by 2-3 inches again. Again, Ramirez reacts as if it's a strike, but it wasn't
Sinker misses well low/away, 3-2
Should be coming inside here.

And he did, sinker diving well inside is a clear ball 4 but fools Volpe into a chase, K, 2 down.

1st pitch sinker into the drop the bat happy zone below and inside of middle, but Verudgo rolls over on it to Lux, throws him out, inning over.
Yanks go 1-2-3 in the 7th.
Top 8, 5-3 Yanks
Weaver will be out there again to face the big lefties, Ohtani and Freeman, and probably Smith as well.

FB high, taken, 1-0 FG high abit further outside, taken 2-0 FB outside corner, 2-1 Change down and in, and ahead in the count, Teoscar was sitting on it, and hammers it out to left for a solo HR, and I think that's a sweep, gang. 3-2 Dodgers as Hernanez burns the Yanks again. I agree about the sweep... As long as Glascow is pitching... And...we were both wrong. I hope. Will be very happy to turn out wrong on that one. |

Takes his timeout, then takes a thigh high cutter inside, 1-2
Chases a FB high, fouls it.
FB inside corner, inside outs a fister past Cabrera way off the bag, dies behind 3rd after bouncing off the kick wall, gets a cheap leadoff double and the Yanks are immediately right back in trouble.
