Apparently staying with Suarez for Stanton and would bring the lefty Akin for Rice, as the pitching coach goes to the mound, not the manager.

The Yankees do have Oscar Gonzalez at AAA, who had a great rookie campaign with Cleveland in 2022, but he fell off the map in 2023. He does have decent stats and a good OPS in Scranton this year, but he's only played 9 career games in CF, none of them in MLB.

Please baseball gods please let Judge be okay.  Really can't afford to lose him. Especially with Dominguez out. My guess is a fracture pinky... Out 4-6 weeks... I wish this was basketball and he could tape it up to the other finger and continue playing... |

FB high just inside middle, Stanton leans back anyway, 1-1
FB at the top of the zone, outer half, and he's just a bit late again, fouls it back and to the right.
Takes the cutter low/away, 2-2
He's not chasing it because it's a cutter, not a slider, Joe, and he can read the pitch without so much break to the glove side.
Change bounced, good block, 3-2
FB runs just inside, Stanton able to spoil, still 3-2

I haven't looked it up, but according to someone on the pregame on WFAN, Rice has a terrible lefty split, which raised the possibility that he would be platooned with DJL against LHP. I wonder if Cabrera PH's here?

FB high ball 4, bases loaded on three walks, and the rookie lefty Ben Rice will have to deal with a tough lefty reliever, Keegan Akin.
Akin 2-0 pitching is some longer relift. ERA 3.79, 27 hits in 35+ innings, 4 HR, 12 BB and 39 K's.
Lefties are hitting him better than righties this year so far, .228 to .191
