Flies open, missed outside with a slider, 1-2
Change away, Rutschman goes with it well to the corner in right, but Soto has room, catches, Henderson draws a throw, goes back, 2 down.

Kahnle in to pitch to Mountcastle with Henderson at 1st and 2 down.
As strange as it may seem, Mountcastle has never faced Kahnle, despite both of them in the AL for at least five seasons.

Slider down the middle, thigh high, taken, 0-1
FB tails inside thigh high, 1-1
Slider low, Henderson goes, and steals 2nd again, the throw is nowhere near in time.
Slider thigh high, in the zone low/away, 2-2
I'd be happier if eveything wasn't thigh high here.
Well, Ok, maybe thigh high is better than missing low/away, to run the count full, 3-2. But not by much.
FB at the knees inside middle, hit hard to deep right, Soto takes the wrong route, cuts over instead of going back immediately, slices late, and he lunges and goes over his head, then bobbles it, run scores on the double, E-9. 5-1 O's.

Once again, relief pitcher fails to do his job. This team needs help at 1B , 2B, 3B, C, and RP. Other than that, we’re solid.

1st pitch FB to O'Hearn is 3-4 inches low, and called a strike anyway. O's bench screams and they're right, that's nowhere near the zone. 0-1
Chases a change well low, 0-2
Change misses down and in, 1-2
Change drops thigh high middle, rolled over to Torres, throws him out, inning over.
O's tack a possibly needless run, lead 5-1 going bottom 7.
Top of the order for the Yanks: Volpe, Soto and Stanton.

Soto is 6-19 vs. the O's this year with just a solo HR in nearly 6 games now. 4 K's and 6 BB. So they're giving him not much, making him take walks or get himself out.

This bullpen is dismal. Need to find a way to upgrade it, or it will be a fatal flaw. Several other issues, but that's number one.
