Curve on the low outside corner might have missed low, Gameday says it got a piece, marginal strike call, 0-1 on Hays.
Cutter hangs outside, 1-1
Curve below the outer 3rd by several inches, swung over, 0-2. Nice drop on that curve. Command not so nice.
Curve a bit higher and more in the middle, fouled off 3rd.
Big slow curve drops low just outside, tries to wait for it, can't, K, big out, 2 down.

Pray for an at-em ball, pres. FB on the corner away, taken. Bad cutter hangs outside, 1-1 Checks his swing ona a FB that hit the top of the zone anyway, not called, 2-1, 5-10% on Gameday Bounced curve, 3-1 Fb inside corner at 90 with some cut on it, waist high, swung and missed somehow. Missed under it. Takes his timeout after maybe hurting himself on a huge HR hack. Cutter down the middle belted to deep right of center, Verdugo goes all out, runs into the wall hard, as he makes a brilliant catch on the dead run into the wall. Unlike the play last week, he had no opportunity to slow down and might have injured his shoulder. Game still "in play" but the Yanks have to get at least one off of Kimbrel, and may lose Verdugo to go with Judge.   |
