Would I be wrong to say that Oswaldo serves no purpose? Wouldn't be playing if Soto was in the lineup. Right...so he is playing because Soto is out of the lineup. |

Yanks get an enormous break, as Nestor hangs a sweeper up and just outside middle, and he scorches a low liner to Torres' right, bunt he dives to the backhand to spear and Springer is caught way off 3rd for the double play. Yanks still in the game, but just barely
Top 5, 3-0 Jays.
19 pitches for Nestor in the 4th, 74 through 4.
Grisham, then back to the top for Volpe and Rice for the Yanks in the 5th.

Cutter maybe just missed the high outside corner, 1-1. Gameday says 20% strike, so Grisham maybe got a break.
Sharp dropping slider knee high outside middle, fouled down.

Slider inside above the knees, Kirk tries to pull it back, but no sale, 2-2

Grisham gets another break. FB to the top of the zone is probably strike 3, not called, 50-50 on Gameday
And brilliant sequancing gets the K anyway. Starts off looking like the FB just before it, drops down into the zone, clearly a strike, 90% on Gameday. Boone and Blake might not like it but they're wrong, and besides, Grisham got a break on the pitch before and maybe another on the 2nd pitch.
