Sinker outside, 1-0 Splitter tails well outside, 2-0 Sinker on the corner away, up in the zone, swung under, 2-1 Tried to go the other way with it, I think, but misses Takes a big slow curve drop into the zone above and inside middle, 2-2 Splitter almost a foot outside chases and fouls it off. Really reached for that one, Alex Sinker just above the outside corner spoiled.

Verdugo has another bad AB as he swings at balls out of the zone.

Judge goes, Verdugo gets a sinker away and up, tries to do the right thing, goes deep down the left side with it, but it slices foul. Cutter about 4 inches above the inside corner, Verdugo chases again, and foul tips it into the mitt for a K, inning over.
Yanks get one, make Bassitt work a bit that inning, but still trail 3-1, going bottom 5. 27 pitches for Bassitt in the 5th, and 81 through 5.
Kiermaier, than back to the top for Bichette and Kiner-Falefa for the Jays in their half of the 5th.

At least they worked Bassitt's pitch count a little bit. With that run the Yankees have upped their total to two runs in 26 innings over his last four starts.

As a baseball fan, it is a pleasure to watch Bassitt pitch. We need to keep making him work like last inning and capitalize on any hittable pitches in the zone.

Verdugo has another bad AB as he swings at balls out of the zone. What makes Bassitt tough is that he has strikes that look like balls (the sinker to the inside corner to lefties, the high slow curve, the cutter into the top) and balls that look like strikes (the sinker going down and in on righties and FBs and cutter out of the zone above middle).

Kiermaier bunts a slider foul, 0-1 FB high, 1-1 FB up and in foul tipped, 1-2 Cutter above the zone chased and fouled off Fb on the inside corner above the knees, taken for the ꓘ, 1 down. Kiermaier didn't like the call, but it was 50-50 or better on Gameday.

Bichette...FB well outside, 1-0 Cutter on the low outside corner or below, fouled Fb to the high outside corner, fouled, 1-2 Slider way low, near the corner inside, and Bichette drops the bat on it and hooks it into the corner in left for a 1 out double That wasn't a bad pitch, but Bichette still hit it hard, because he just owns Nestor.
