Devers goes after a 1st pitch sinker, just below the zone, just inside middle and hits a hard fliner to medium deep right center, but Grisham is pretty much right there and catches without any trouble. Inning over.
Great outing for Hill, who all of a sudden has gone from journeyman dumpster pickup to a vital role in this mess of a bullpen.
Bottom 7, 10-4 Yanks.
Grisham, Wells and Cabrera for the Yanks in their 7th.

OK, the record for consecutive at bats with a hit is jointly held by Walt Dropo of the 1952 Red Sox and Pinky Higgins of the 1938 Tigers, both had 12 hits in a row.
Dropo did it in 3 games, Higgins in 4 games.

OK, yes the record is 12 consecutive hits, more details later. Judge goes after a 1st pitch cutter at the knees, rolls if over to Devers, throws him out, 1 down. Do you know who has the record? |

Takes a waist high FB that just brushes the corner away, 0-1
Cutter gets a piece of the corner up and in, not called, 1-1, 20-25% on Gameday, far from the worst call today.
Change misses down and in, 2-1
FB right down the middle, and Grisham hammers it to deep right center, no chance for Rafaela, off the wall for a 1 out double.

Cabrera has to skip rope a bit on a cutter down and in, 1-0
Misses a change in the zone up and away, 1-1
Takes a curve dropping in just above and inside middle 1-2
Cutter in the zone up and in, spoiled
Curve just outside fouled off
Curve drops well low, inside corner, Cabrera chases and gets a piece.
Takes his timeout.
Fb above the top in the middle, lined to center for a hit. Grisham is held at 3rd as Rafaela is one it quickly. Sorta suprised he couldn't get a better jump and score on that one, but Rafela has a shortstop's arm.
