Takes a FB that gets a small piece of the corner away, 10-20% on Gemday, 0-1
Takes a FB that misses up and away by 3-4 inches, 1-1
FB up in the zone, outside corner, fouled off, 1-2
Yanks have been trying to keep it outside on Paredes all series long.
Takes his timeout

FB down the middle above the knees, bad spot, but Paredes misses under, pops it high halfway up 3rd heading foul toward the dugout, Rice loses it in the sun, Wells comes over late, tries to make a sliding cathc on his knees, can't hold it. Gave Paredes another life. Hope it doesn't cost them.
Change low/away 2-2
FB above middle and Paredes JUST misses under, high fly to medium deep left is an easy catch, 2 down.
Weaver got away with one there.

He's costing himself a lot of money this season. He went from a big multiyear deal to probably having to accept a one year prove it deal now. Maybe he can sign with Pittsburgh or Kansas City where the pressure isn't so great. |

Gleyber has been so bad this season, I almost wonder if now maybe he's back in a short, cheap, "prove it" deal next season. Nobody is giving him a big/long contract this winter.

FB up and in, but not close over the corner, and he spins out for ball 2.

Not sure why catchers don't toss the mask anymore on popups. With mask on I would think it's harder to pick up the ball.

OK, Wever finishes the inning, getting Lowe to miss a FB running to the outside corner, about waist high for the K. Swung under it.
Bottom 8, 5-3 Rays.
Adam needed 25 pitches to get through the 7th. Not sure he starts the 8th.
Whoever it is, Verdugo, Volpe and Grisham for the Yanks. So a lefty, maybe, but their out of lefties, having used Cleavinger and Poche.
So...I dunno.

Change almost right down the middle, maybe a bit inside middle, and Volpe is early and over it for the K.
