Of course they are. I'd Gleyber there first or maybe just trade for an actual 3rd baseman So in the midst of a playoff race, you're gonna try a guy who has never played at the hot corner there with a pitching staff that has been getting hit like a speed bag? That's a brilliant plan if I understand it correctly; it's a swiss f*#king watch.

Same with Chisholm. Neither has ever played one inning at 3B.

RF at Fenway has a lot of ground to cover, the opposite of Yankee Stadium, so the flipped Verdugo and Soto. They've done that every game at Fenway this year. Thanks. I just missed it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Chisholm or Torres learning 3B on the fly, but the other options there are sooooooooo inept offensively. With Stanton and Dominguez seemingly coming back, you could run a lineup of:
2B/3B Chisholm (L) CF Judge (R) RF Soto (L) DH Stanton (R) C Wells (L) 2B/3B Torres (R) LF Dominguez (S) 1B Rice (L) SS Volpe (R)
It seems like they should be able to just move Torres and get a proven 3B though. No need to get cute with this.

Pass. Never was a fan of Chapman. GG...28 HR...786 OPS... I guess .786 OPS is pretty good in today's depressed offensive environment even with his mediocre batting average. He would definitely be an upgrade. I don't see them taking on his contract though. Use that money for Soto first.

.786 is Chapman's career OPS. BUT...
He's at .750 this year. He was .755 last year. He was .757 the year before that. Ove the last 3 years overall he's at /235//328/.427 and a 113 OPS+. Year to year he's been pretty consistent towards that line too - no real big swings in any stat honestly.
If you acquire him, I think that's more in line with what you should expect. And that would still be a great add. He's a viable middle of the order bat and strong fielder at a position we currently don't have any MLB caliber option at unless someone on the roster takes to the position on the fly.

Or maybe Joey Gallo?
