What's the corresponding move? Agustin was on the 40-man, so that's an open space. Goodbye JD? He's useless. Trade Grisham and let Jazz play center? Send Jones down? At least he can pinch run, so he has a purpose. Trade Torres? I don't think they'll do that because he has very little value. It will be interesting in the next few hours. Yanks play tonight, so they have a little time. I'm wondering if the Yankees are trying to trade Torres for prospects that the Rays want as part of a trade for Diaz and or Fairbanks.

I think he will be a better hitter than Jones ... Nothing wrong with a good young DH that could hit and 3rd catcher / 1b Jones is trending in the wrong direction and his K rate needs to be cut in half ... He's currently over 37% K rate in AA Florial for example was always just under 30% k rate in the minors

It takes so much more than tools to be a MLB player… By the way, for those curious about Florial, or perhaps still smitten with him, after his .173 effort with Cleveland this season his slash in the minors this season is .211 .348 .276 .624 . He’s hit one HR. He’ll soon be looking for other work if anyone has a business with an opening…

Chisholm has talent. Talent is the beginning of excellence, but not the end of it. He has speed, power and the ability to play in the middle of the field. His K rate has been too high, but it's lower this year: a career-low 25%. Still above the MLB average, which is 22.3%, but if a player hits with power, 25% is a decent K rate. His walk rate is 9%, another career-high. Not great, but not terrible, either, as the MLB average is 8.2%. His power has been better in past seasons, but is still above average, and his BAVG and OBA are right near MLB average. He's been below average defensively in center, at least according to DRS and UZR, although OAA and RAA think he's above average there. Fangraphs overall defensive ratings try to balance the three and says that he's a smidge below average at -0.3 runs so far this year. In his one season at 2nd, the metrics said Chishalm was above average, but that was 3 years ago.
He's just 25, and has 2 1/2 years of team control left. Nobody knows if he'll adapt well to playing under the pressure of the expectations that come with playing for a contending team, and playing for the Yankees in New York. He has talent, but carries some risk. If you're going to take risk in a trade, trading for a still young player with obvious tools that still need development is the type of risk to take. Augustin Ramirez might become a big-time power hitter with the Marlins, but he's not likely to stay at catcher, and a career at other positions is largely blocked on this Yankees roster. I don't know much about the other two prosects dealt, but unlike the Rays, the Marlins have a history of guessing wrong in the prospects they trade for. So we'll see.
Overall, I think this deal is worth the risk.
Oh, almost forgot. Chisholm is going from one of the worst hitter's parks in baseball to a very good HR park for lefties. If he doesn't get pull happy, and lose hiw swing altogether, Yanks might get a 30-HR hitting secondbaseman out of this deal. The home park didn't seem to affect Chisholm too much, slightly better OPS at home: .748 vs. 730 in his time with the Marlins.; .693 vs. .774 this season alone.

Of course they are. I'd Gleyber there first or maybe just trade for an actual 3rd baseman

Is there a reason Verdugo is moved to RF and Soto to left? RF at Fenway has a lot of ground to cover, the opposite of Yankee Stadium, so the flipped Verdugo and Soto.
