Yankees gave up arguably their 2nd most exciting prospect (behind Dominguez) for chism? They got raped

Eh, I'm not overly excited, but at least they didn't give up too much, IMO. Maybe Chisholm blossoms here. I would rather give up Jones than Ramirez

I agree, unless Jazz is going to play 3B. Like Gleyber, Chisolm has never played 3B. I can't see putting him or Gleyber there at this point in the season, but with the way things have been going, I suppose anything is possible. Yeah ... I'd hate to lose DJs .490 OPS

not a terrible player. too many Ks. his speed will help but don't see it addressing any of our pressing needs. there's gotta be other shoes to drop.

They got raped Actually, that's about the price for a veteran player who's still young, still has 2 1/2 years of team control, and is a league average or better player with potential for more. Especially when you consider the Yanks have Wells ahead of him with 5 years of team control left.

He does K's too much, but he is young, athletic, adds speed, can play center against lefties, infield at other times. I think this means DJ's days are numbered, certainly in the lineup, if not on the roster.

Meh. Need a starter more. Still have a few days.
But please get rid of DJ, Holmes, Gleyber, and Rizzo somehow.

Chisholm, who is making $2.63 million in 2024, has two more years of arbitration eligibility before he can become a free agent. That is not crazy money. What are you talking about. More than likely they let Torres go in the off season and have a second baseman who is making a lot less. I'm talking from the Marlins side. Chisholm's salary will double in arbitration next year and will go up even more in 26. For them that's a lot of money for a player that's just been OK past two seasons. For Chisholm's recent production, even $10 million a year sin't excessive.

The Yankees made this out of strength as their farm system is pretty much middle infielders and catcher hybrids. I don't know if it's a good trade, but they didn't have to give up any pitching.
I hate to see Agustin get traded because I think he'll hit, but not sure where he plays.
Abrahan Ramirez had great season in the FCL, but it's the FCL. Many of the floundering Tampa players were in the FCL last season. At 19, he's a lottery ticket.
Serna is a good player, but he has a few guys in front of him.
I wish these guys luck and hope they do well so I can read about them later.

I have not seen enough of Jass Chisholm to have a strong opinion. I have seen enough of Alex Verdugo. Play Chisholm in LF.

What's the corresponding move? Agustin was on the 40-man, so that's an open space. Goodbye JD? He's useless. Trade Grisham and let Jazz play center? Send Jones down? At least he can pinch run, so he has a purpose. Trade Torres? I don't think they'll do that because he has very little value.
It will be interesting in the next few hours. Yanks play tonight, so they have a little time.
