Here comes Jazz, like it or not. Will he be the new CF in place of Grisham, or do we have a deal lined up for Gleyber, just as he’s starting to hit? Would they dare to try Jazz at 3rd? I’m nervous if they do… Gleyber July... .298 / .375 / .456 / .831 That said...he hasn't come up with the big hit in crucial situations. Also, he'll be a FA after this season; Chisolm is under control thru '26. I can't see how Chisolm plays without Gleyber or Grishman being moved. This move does make more sense for next season when you can let Gleyber walk and slide Jaz to second base.

Smart move by the Marlins to pick up a bat like Ramirez for an average player that's about to become more expensive. Chisholm, who is making $2.63 million in 2024, has two more years of arbitration eligibility before he can become a free agent. That is not crazy money. What are you talking about. More than likely they let Torres go in the off season and have a second baseman who is making a lot less.

Chi was looking at the deal from the Marlins' perspective and their financial parameters, not the Yankees.

Chisholm's salary will double in arbitration next year and will go up even more in 26. For them that's a lot of money for a player that's just been OK past two seasons.

That would be great if Jazz could eventually play third base, a serious position of need for the Yanks.

The 30/30 thing is just a flashy number but it's nice to see the Yankees and an athletic and fast player to the lineup that full of a lot of slow guys.

Jared Serna is the second minor leaguer going to Florida. He was playing at high A.

Can he go a few innings out of the pen?

Eh, I'm not overly excited, but at least they didn't give up too much, IMO. Maybe Chisholm blossoms here.

Career .246/.309/.440/.749, strikes out a lot, has some pop. Okay? I mean, I guess he's an upgrade on Grisham, but where does he play when Stanton is back and Judge goes back to Center? This doesn't look they kind of acquisition that provides much of a bump to a team struggling as badly as the Yanks. More of a spark plug than a middle of the order type. His K’s are down a bit this year, but a free swinger who’s seeing less pitches than in past years. He’s almost another Volpe, albeit perhaps more refined and less streaky… Jazz has an average OBP this season. It would be nice if Volpe did too.
