Volpe takes a slider near middle, 0-1 Big breaking slider is nowhere close to the zone, Volpe opens up early again, pulls way off. Gets a mistake! A FB below and outside middle on 0-2, drives it hard the other way, a probable HR at the Stadium, but it dies on the track, and Marsh catches with a leap against the wall as he catches, inning over. Yanks have 3 more RISP fails on the ghost runner, and now it's the Phillies turn, Harper is the ghost runner as the Yanks go to their new toy. Leiter thrown into the deep end with the winning run on 2nd, nobody out, and Bohm, Marsh and Realmuto due in.

First appearance with the team coming with a runner on 2nd facing in prime position for a walk off loss is dirty work lol

Wonder if we’ll see Leiter in the 10th?… I'm surprised he's even there. They said in the middle innings that he got to the park just before the game. Hard for him to be really ready for this on such short turnaround time.

That's what sucks about the runner on 2nd to lead off in extra innings rule...I personally miss those 18 inning marathons. "Bonus Cantos" used to mean a bonus "song" now it means a whistling tune. It's over before it started.

Marsh killed us that inning. Yeah it's shocking to the eyes to see good defense with what we've been trotting out there. It's one thing to have played as many terrible hitters as we have. It's another to play terrible hitters and also have a bad defense lol

Misses outside with a curve, 1-0. Curve into the upper part of the zone, popped foul out of play off 3rd. Sinker to the knees, inner 3rd, rolled over to Volpe, he backhands, looks back Harper, throws him out, 1 down.

If DJ never got another at bat, I'd be perfectly content. Watching him is orders of magnitude beyond painful at this point.

Marsh... Throw over. Takes a curve into the zone above and outside middle, 0-1 Splitter hangs up and in. A lot of pitches high so far. Another splitter backs up and away, 2-1 His slot is not here. Again misfires way high and outside, Wells does...uh...well to prevent the Wild pitch. Cutter inside saws off Marsh, breaks his bat, and the bloop goes to DJ for out #2.

Boone gives an IBB to Realmuto. Rojas up. big breaking curve ends up low/away, swung over, 0-1 Sweeper bounced outside, 1-1 Rojas has never faced Leiter before. Inside move to chase Harper back to 2nd.
