maybe gleyber was pulled for not running on the ball off the wall. but if so, why wait a couple innings.
Looks like Boone may have pulled him.
He probably did. Good for Boone. Let's see if Gleyber handles this maturely.

Same cutter, this one in the zone low/away, pulls off it for strike 2. Bounces one well outside, Serven saves a wild pitch, 1-2 Chases an ankle-high cutter, fouls it straight down to stay alive for the moment. Bounces the cutter, outer half, and Cabrera gets himself out, K, inning over.
Waste of time overthinking the chance, batting lefty against the lefty. Maybe he got the 2 for 3 that way, I dunno.
Top 6, 7-5 Jays. Serven, then back to the top for Springer and Loperfido, against a new pitcher. Cousins, maybe?

Tonkin still in there? Interesting. Slider on the outside corner, 0-1 on Serven. Slider way outside, 1-1 Slider backs up, inner 3rd, taken, 1-2 Slider inside middle, low in the zone, slapped inside out through the 34 hole for a leadoff hit.

Springer... Sinker to the knees, fouled, 0-1 Sinker down and in, fouled off his left foot, and he goes down in pain. They give him some recovery time. He takes a slider well low/away, 1-2 FB above and inside middle at 93, fouled FB just a bit above and outside that one, swung under for the K. 1 down.
Hill coming in for Tonkin, he'll have to pitch to Loperfido and Guerrero, at least.

Sinker in the zone near the inside corner, fouled back, 0-1 on Loperfido. Sidearm sinker to the low/inside part of the zone, swung over, 0-2 Same pitch, a bit further inside, swung over for the K, 2 down.
Guerrero is 1-3 vs. Hill, with a BB and a K.
