FB left ina bad spot below and outside middle, barrelled too well, line to right center for a hit, VArsho playing that way, cuts it off and holds Soto at 2nd.
Wells up as the tying run.
Pitching coach again comes out to talk to Gausman.

Gave him a FB low in the zone in the middle, and Wells goes with it beatifully, hits it to the left of 2nd, catches Jimenez leaning the wrong way, gets by his dive to his right for a hit. Soto was going to hold, but Varsho bobbles, allowing Soto to score on the E-8, and the Yanks are back to winthin two, 7-5. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for Stanton, who's grounded out twice.
