Ken Rosenthal was talking about Loaisiga being the next man up before today's game. He's already on the 40 man roster.

Hopefully, German settles down today and gives us some effective length. I would think Tanaka’s absence lengthens his leash a bit...quite an opportunity for Loaisiga as he may take German’s spot after Tanaka returns if German doesn’t pick up the pace a bit... and this may also hasten the trade search, too...

I know virtually nothing about Loaisiga other than that he is a righty...........not a tall guy, I think, but after watching Bobby Shantz and Murray Dickson dominate, I decided you didn't need to be a tower on the mound....

You know more than you think, Utah. You know he’s not Sidney Ponson or Sergio Mitre...Sidney Pondscum or Meat Tray... Ah, remember the days...

I'd forgotten how chubby Sidney got towards the end of his career...He was listed in BR at 6'1" and 260, so no doubt he weighed a bit more. Remembering that he had multiple DUIs during his career. He was almost a traded from the Yankees to San Diego at one point for current Yankees 3B coach Phil Nevin, but Nevin invoked his no-trade clause...Also Ponson got into a legal scuffle in Aruba regarding his poor handling of his speed boat and spent 11 days in jail...
Hard to believe he became a two-time Yankee and that he made 15 starts for the Yankees in that bleak 2008 season...Wasn't there almost another return? I think there was...after he was released by KC...I know that in 2010 he scratching around with an Indy team trying to find a taker...How does a pitcher survive for 12 years in MLB with a .799 OPS and .289 BA against? Seems unlikely...but he did it...

More like Sidney pontoon. Meat tray made starts in 09i believe. So much better to have youts. Whatever the case I hope we keep German in the rotation and deal with his growing pains. I think he'll either be special or Pineda 2.0. But I want him to get the chance to prove what he is

He did a great job yesterday after the first inning blip...To me, that was a huge step in the right direction...9 Ks in 6 innings...he had it going...

I agree... but then again, Pineda would do the same thing... be dominate 90% of the game, except for one inning.. I really hope German don't turn into a Pineda... and turns more into a Severino

German is a big part of the future, if he doesn't get hurt....if we can't be excited about what we see in this kid, we must be like Betsy, who used to post here, and fawn over a young Phil Hughes.....
