FB tails inner 3rd, ties him up a bit, grounds it foul off 3rd, 1-1.
I'd just like to see him hit a ball hard somewhere. He hasn't for a while, I think.
FB taken waist high, outside middle. Sigh.
Fb misses low/away, taken, 2-2
Yanks a FB low and outside, 3-2.
Takes his timeout.
FB knee high in the middle, gets under it a bit, the fliner goes to dead center, Meadows goes back a few steps. Hit that pretty well, but missed under it. 94.2 off the bat. Inning over.
Up to Holmes now, bottom of the 9th, 1-0 Yanks.
4-5-6 for the Tigers: Carpenter, Keith and Torkelson vs. Holmes.

Keith has never faced Holmes.
Torkelson is 1-6 with 1 BB, 3 K's and 1 GIDP vs. Holmes.

Sinker misses low,1-0
Sinker down and in, pulled foul off 1st, 1-1
Sinker on the corner away, fouled hard but back and to the left. So far, he's on Holmes slider pretty good.
Sweeper bounced inside, 2-2
He doesn't have a curve, Karl, that's the sweeper.
Gets under another slider backs way up and outside, ball 3. Sigh...
Good sharp two-plane sinker dives outside, Carpenter chases for the K, 1 down.

Sweeper misses just low inside corner, called a strike anyway, a gift for Holmes missed by an inch or two on Gameday. 0%, 0-1
Sinker tails outside and Keith checks in time, 1-1
Sinker hangs above middle at 98, lined the other way, lands fair in the corner for a 1 out double, and as a certain thread denizen would say:

Holmes comes set, then steps off.
Torkelson used his timout after the 1-1.
Another good sharp slider about 4-5 inches outside, and this one he chases for the K, 2 down.

Jung faced Holmes Friday evening and K'd.
Entire infield at the mound saying encouraging things like "Don't f-up, ya hump!!"
