I heard Love got hurt in that game, any update? I saw Saquon Barkley had 3 TD's. No full report on Love but they’ve said the ACL is intact

Northern Illinois 16 Notre Dame 14 And at South Bend. This is why I hate playing MAC teams. Penn State had its hands full playing Bowling Green before pulling it out. Other than a powerhouse like Ohio State, typical MAC teams are only modestly less-talented than typical Big 10 teams. But they don't have the name recognition, so you get little credit for beating them but it's considered a reason for suicide if you lose to them. Better to play a bad team from a power conference than a good one from a mid-major. Different circumstances, but Alabama struggled against South Florida too. The week before, Colorado barely hung on against North Dakota State. And under no conditions put Appalachian State on your schedule.

Northern Illinois 16 Notre Dame 14 ND and Navy are the college teams that I root for. I used to also root for Penn State because my Dad was a fan of Paterno.

Giants losing 21-3. Sam Darnold is playing like Fran Tarkenton.

Appalachian State always seems to have really good athletes and has put real scares into many Division I teams and has even beaten them, knocking off number 6 Texas A&M just a couple years ago. University of Louisiana at Lafayette has had a tough time with the Mountaineers in the conference over the years. LSU has two offensive tackles that project to both go in the top ten in the next NFL Draft. Nevertheless, The Tigers have struggled against USC and Nicholls State with both their offensive and defensive lines. Could be a down year. I thought Brian Kelly would bring in discipline, but LSU still has too many knuckleheads who prefer selfies to team play.

Rizz you no doubt remember when Appalachian State beat a number 5 Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2007. It was the first time an FCS team had ever beaten a ranked FBS team. That was a funny year in college football because a few months later Navy ended a 43-year drought against Notre Dame. Although the Fighting Irish were lousy that year. I saw a little bit of your game against USC. That could have gone either way. You guys will still wind up in a bowl and maybe even the playoffs. I got curious about the history of your series with Tulane and saw to my surprise that you haven't played for The Rag since 2009. I know it was pretty lopsided, but still seems like a natural.

Indeed, I always considered it to be a good rivalry, even though it was lopsided as you stated. No LSU fan wanted to lose to Tulane. During my high school years, Tulane beat LSU three out of four years. LSU also never plays against Louisiana at Lafayette and didn't when they were named University of Southwestern Louisiana either. Most LSU fans would say that if it wins such games, they receive no credit and if they lose it's the end of the world, which makes you wonder why they do occasionally play Nicholls State, Southeastern, and Southern. LSU bought out Tulane to cancel the remainder of their head-to-heads, which is a shame since they first played in 1893. Supposedly, LSU wanted as many of its non-SEC games to be played at home as possible ($$$$$) and Tulane was not willing to capitulate from the home-and-home contests.

I love the old natural rivalries and hate how they have been so watered down. Although we still have Lehigh-Lafayette, the oldest in all of football. In the Marx Brothers 1932 film "Horsefeathers," the traditional rivals are Huxley and Darwin universities. Groucho, as Huxley President Quincy Adams Wagstaff, tells the school's staff that they need to build a university that the football team can be proud of. So maybe things haven't changed that much.

After looking very pitiful in their first game against Miami, my Florida Gators bounced back against Samford 45-7. Freshman QB DJ Lagway broke Florida's Freshman single game passing record with 456 yards and 3 TD's. He got the start after starting QB Graham Mertz suffered a concussion in the first game. Many thought Lagway was the #1 QB recruit in the nation and he showed why on Saturday. I'm not sure who will be starting against Texas A&M this week, but I hope it's Lagway.

Congrats rizz on LSU's come from behind victory.
As usual, my Gators are off to a slow start. Down 10-0 after 1.
