Ok, I see the board is back. And replies are being reposted out of order. So...in order. Torres "completed a DP" forgetting that there were already 2 down, but gloving a grounder and stepping on 2nd.
In the Yankees 2nd: Wells grounded out. Stanton smashed a wicked HR to the LF corner to tie it at 1. Chisholm doubled on a misplayed fly to deep right by Walker. Chisholm took off for 3rd, Mikolas reacted late and threw it away, Chisholm scored, 2-1 Yanks. Rizzo grounded out and Volpe struck out to end the 2nd, 2-1 Yanks
The Cards scaled 4 balls in the 3rd off Cortes, but the BABIP gods were against them: Baker flied out to deep left. Arenado lined out to Volpe Schmidt doubled up the right center gap. Herrera hit a hard grounder near 2nd that almost handcuffed Torres, but he gloved and threw him out. Inning over.
In the Yankees 3rd, they went quietly: Verdugo grounded out to 2nd. Torres whiffed. Soto grounded out to Goldschmidt, 3-1.
Top 4, 2-1 Yanks. Cortes is 42 pitches through 3, Mikolas at 48.

Any of you guys lose your connection? Yankees grab the lead Stanton's power and Jazz's legs. We all did. The site was down for a while.

Donovan works the count to 3-2, the serves a knee high cutter to left for a leadoff single Raining hard at the Stadium to start the 4th, but this is the last game between the teams and getaway day, so they'll get it in.

Walker takes a slider up and away. Then takes a cutter near the same spot, 2-0 Cutter above middle pulled foul, 2-1 Change dives way low, outside corner, 3-1 Cutter up and in, grounded hard to Volpe, Volpe reached for it, but it takes a high hop as he tried to backhand, goes into left for a hit. 1st and 2nd, nobody out and the last 6 cards have hit the ball hard off Nestor: 98, 85, 105, 104, 87 and 93.
Blake goes to talk to Nestor. Now the ground crew comes out to try to fix the wet mound.

If they're not going to start Dominguez over Verdugo, then calling him up makes no sense. That begs the question: why would they not start him over Verdugo, and what I keep coming back to is that they don't want to turn Verdugo into a clubhouse lawyer a la Sheffield, and although his hitting has been awful since mid-June and we all lament him not running hard to 1st, but he's still playing very well in left, and he is, in fact, running into walls to make plays.

Everyone towing the company line at YES. That was really hard to listen to, just a bunch of nonsense.

Nootbaar takes a FB low, 1-0 Swings on a slider away, fouled off, 1-1 Fb low in the middle, taken, 2-1 Humps up to 93, FB below middle is fouled off to the left, 2-2 Big breaking sweeper cuts across the entire zone, winds up outside, but Nootbaar chases for the K, 1 down.
