1st pitch curve, waist high, outside corner, and he's sitting on it, I guess, because he belts it to the back of the KC bullpen, solo HR makes it 2-0 Royals. Not exactly a hanger, but he was on it.

Grossman gets a FB in the zone up and in, fouls it off. Gets a very favorable call on a slider about 2-3 inches outside, 0-2 Humps up to 96, misses up and away with a FB, 1-2 Leaves a change just below middle-middle, and Grossman is late and under, pops to Rizzo in foul territory off 1st. Inning over.
Bottom 3, 2-0 Royals. 14 pitches in the 3rd, 53 through 3 for Rodon. Verdugo, then back to the top for Torres and Soto.

Verdugo...
Takes a FB down the middle at 93. Takes a slider outside, 1-1 Slider at the knees, near middle, Verdugo late and under, pops high to short left, Witt goes back, calls off Garcia, catches, 1 down.

Someone should tell Verdugo what the next spot in the batting order is after you get dropped to 9th.

Torres takes a sinker at the knees, outer 3rd, 0-1 Takes a slider outside, 1-1 Takes another slider further outside, 2-1 Sinker in the middle above the knees, inside outs a liner in front of Renfroe for a single Have I ever mentioned how much better a hitter Torres is when he goes to right? Because he is.

I'm pretty sure we mention it just about every time Torres gets in a pull happy slump.

Someone should tell Verdugo what the next spot in the batting order is after you get dropped to 9th. I think that's the message of the Rodriguez call-up. Slider well outside, 1-0 on Soto. Sinker low, inner half, 2-0 Slider outside, Soto barely checks in time. Slider on the corner away, taken, 3-1 Slider at the knees in the middle, Soto takes, and starts to go to 1st, but it was clearly a strike. 3-2 Bad throw over, saved by Gurriel. Slider down and in, taken, Soto walks. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for Judge.

Soto walks. 2 on for Judge. Would be a nice place for 52.

Judge takes a sinker well low, and a bit outside, 1-0 Please look outside and offspeed if necessary and step in and go Porch? Perez goes to talk to Singer, Witt joins them.

If Salvador Perez played his career in a city with an actual media presence, he'd be the toast of the town.

Beats him clean with a sinker running to the inside corner, foul tipped, 1-1 Slider on the corner away, and he tried, but was late and under, fouled down the right side, 1-2 Beats him clean with a sinker in the zone up away, and he opens up early and misses inside, instead of stepping and keeping the front shoulder closed, going to right. K, 2 down. Yanks 0-3 with RISP.

I'm watching MNF on the laptop because DirecTV and Disney can't manage to get along.
