Top of the order for the Royals in the 3rd: Pham, Witt, and Perez.
In this situation, getting Pham to lead off the inning is a must. No get-it-over fastballs middle-in and above the waist, please.

Slider on the edge of the corner above the knees, loops a liner to right for a leadoff single, and Gil is back in trouble.

Slider in a bad spot outside middle, hit hard down the line, but again, hooks foul, 1-2
FB yanked way outside, gets past Trevino for a WP, Pham to 2nd.
FB above and inside middle at 97, barrels a liner but near Judge in medium deep left center, but Judge is playing Perez that way, gets the jump and makes it look easy, throws behind Pham but he gets back. 107.7 on that fliner by Perez.

Slider winds up below middle middle, but he's geared for the FB and swings early and over it for the K.
Bottom 3, 0-0.
Royals hitting some balls hard off Gil, but he's keep them off the board.
23 pitches in the 3rd, and 62 through 3 for Gil. At that rate, he's lucky to make it through 5.
7-8-9 for the Yanks: Volpe, Rizzo and Trevino.
