Abreu has faced Hill once and walked.

Hamilton only threw 21 pitches. Unless Boone wants him for tomorrow, why not let him finish the inning?

Well, that should be it for Hill.

Abreu... Goes after a 1st pitch sinker at the knees down the middle, rolls it over to Torres, throws him out, inning over. Very efficient.
Bottom 7, 1-1 Torres, Soto and Judge for the Yanks in the 7th. Kelly stays in?

Volpe has stranded 8 runners in 3 AB's. The record for a nine inning game is 12, by Glenn Beckert and Todd Helton. For a game of any length it's Ryan Zimmerman with 14 in a 13-inning game. Volpe is in the running, but it won't be easy.

Well, that should be it for Hill. I think Hill stays in through Devers, but what do I know. Yeah, I know. Sardonic.

I'd tend to agree. We're very fortunate to have gotten off to a blistering start and be in a league of seemingly unprecedented parity. I look at this team and I want to say they're going nowhere in October, but then I look around the league and realize pretty much every other team that will make the postseason is deeply flawed as well. We just need a couple of guys to get hot. The positive is that their rotation has shown they can dominate and with that and Judge & Soto, you can win in the post season. I feel like Judge & Soto are swooning at the right time and should come around for the stretch run & playoffs. Will still need a couple of other guys in the lineup to show up as well. And you're right, each of these starters have had multiple 3+ start stretches where they pitch very well. Hopefully a couple of them have it in them to do it in October. My biggest concern as it's been all season will be the bullpen. We still don't know who can close, and all of these guys have been anywhere from shaky to downright awful at times. I just know that Leiter Fluid and Holmes should be nothing more than slag arms come October.

There was a time in the 60s when there were three unrelated guys named Boozer in three professional sports. John with the Phillies, Emerson with the Jets and Bob with the Bulls. Today's piece of completely useless information. I do remember all 3 of those guys. Bob Boozer was a terrific player. Lots of tough battles with DeBusschere. Yep. He was a high school basketball teammate of Bob Gibson in Omaha.

Torres takes a FB down the middle near the top, 0-1 Takes a slider outside at the knees, 1-1 Slider maybe got a tiny piece of the corner low/away, 1-2% on Gameday, not called, 2-1 Cutter above middle lined hard but right to Story, 1 down.
