a laugher to open a 4 game lead - our biggest of the season. we've now won 8 of 11. all against good teams as the team appears to be peaking at the right time. finally an offensive explosion. other than rizzo & chisholm, everyone took part. most of the damage from 1-4. gonna give judge potg for giving us a 4-0 lead. lots of honorables including soto w a 2-run hr, wells w a bases clearing double and gleyber for 3 hits and scoring 3 runs ahead of the boppers. nice to see the martian get his first hr of the season and ocab w his usual solid all around game including 2 hits. though not his best, will give gil an honorable as well for 5 innings and 1 run though he got bailed out by a ridiculous steal of home by robles. a good job by stroman gaining a save. Once again, we're in agreement, bumper. |

Verdugo... Takes a sinker that starts inside, breaks into the zone up and in, 0-1 Sinker inside, he inside outs a fliner to left, easy play for Arozarena, inning over. Bottom 7, 10-1 Yanks. Rojas, then back to the top for Garver and Rodriguez for the M's in their half of the 7th. MLB will not be pleased with Nelson calling the M's City Connect uniforms ugly. Even if they are. They look like bad softball uniforms. Pretty much, especially the ugly dayglo yellow spikes/sneakers. |

Game 2 tomorrow again at 9:40 pm, this one the lamentable Prime Video game of the week.
Nestor Cortes (9-10, 3.90 ERA) tries to finally get back to .500 on the season for the Yanks. He's pitched well his last two games, the 4 1/3 innings in relief of Schmidt for a win against the Cubs, and 5 innings 1-run ball against the Red Sox at the Stadium for a no-decision. Bryce Miller (11-8, 3.12 ERA) goes for Seattle. Among all the good starters on their pitching staff, it's Miller who has the lowest ERA, at least among their starters who have enough innings to qualify. Miller has had just one poor game in his last 7 starts; he's 3-1 with a 1.55 ERA in those 7 games, 45 K's and 9 BB in 40 2/3 innings, just 24 hits allowed.
